So I am just getting started using RB. I put in a chord progression, chose a style, framed the tune, then played the result--so far, so good.
Went to Tracks view, picked an unused audio track, hit record, and played a melody into the tune with my Casio CTK-6000 arranger keyboard. Got a window that said, "MIDI track recorded, save?" I thought this was an audio recording, because it was a "generic audio" track, so I chose NO to the MIDI, thinking, "Oh, it recorded MIDI in addition to audio, and I just want the audio recording."
But it was a no-go, nothing was recorded at all. What did I do wrong?
