Ich habe ein Problem, das mit der Kombination zweier verschiedener B.i.a.b.-Versionen zusammenhängt und das ich ohne Unterstützung, ohne eine gute Idee von erfahrenen, langjährigen Nutzern nicht lösen kann. Ich bin, obgleich seit rund fünf Jahren Besitzer von Band-in-a-Box, selbst noch immer nicht sooo erfahren mit dem Programm (auch, weil ich‘s immer nur phasenweise nutze; also weit entfernt von täglich oder auch bloß wöchentlich).
Also, mein erstes PG Music-Produkt damals war Biab 2016 als UltraPlusPAK (auf Festplatte). Das Programm habe ich bei jeder Nutzung von dort aus gestartet; keine Installation notwendig. Dann beschloss ich vor fast einem Jahr ein Update, und zwar in Form des 2021 MegaPAKs. (Ein neues UltraPlusPAK aus Kostengründen nicht und weil da alte ja schließlich noch funktionierte!)
Soweit, so gut. Es stellte sich dann allerdings die Frage: Wie beide Versionen so zusammenbringen, dass ich über die 2021er Programmversion die Real Tracks beider Versionen nutzen kann? Dabei half mir dankenswerterweise M3C mit der dort üblichen schnellen und unbürokratischen Art und Weise; allerdings musste man offenbar auch dort erst einmal in Kanada wegen einer Lösung nachfragen. Die hatte ich dann schließlich, und ich installierte den Inhalt des USB-Sticks auf die 2016er Version, also auf die Festplatte selbst. Das Ergebnis sah zunächst gut aus: Ich kann seitdem die 2021er Programmversion und die alten wie neuen Real Tracks nutzen– jedoch: bei den neuen nicht alle…
Zum besseren Verständnis bitte ich, einen Blick auf nachfolgende Screenshots zu werfen. [Screenshots 1 - 3]
Ich hoffe, es wird klar erkennbar, dass bei einem Teil der 2020er Styles (bei weitem nicht bei allen!) der Vermerk steht [RT n/a] für "Real Tracks not availabe". Benutze ich einen solcherart gekennzeichneten dennoch, erscheinen Meldungen wie diese: [Screenshots 4+5]
Abspielbar sind diese Styles aber dennoch (zumindest die, die ich ausprobierte), denn es scheint, dass jeweils wiederum nur ein Teil der Instrumente fehlt!
Da ich bei diesem Problem keinerlei System erkennen kann, mich das ganze völlig ratlos macht und dieses Mal leider keine Antwort von M3C gekommen ist, nachdem ich mich vor einer Weile erneut dorthin wandte, hoffe ich auf Erklärungen/Ideen/Lösungen von euch hinsichtlich der Fragen, warum nicht alle Styles vom Stick installiert wurden bzw. diese nur unvollständig - und natürlich, wie ich die fehlenden Styles bzw. die fehlenden Instrumente einiger Styles hinzufügen kann.
Hallo Thorsten. Das Ultrapak 2016 enthielt eine ganze Reihe RealStyles (ich glaube bis Styleset #229)und alle dafür notwendigen RealTracks (also die einzelnen Instrumentenaufnahmen, mit denen die RealStyles arbeiten). Bis zur aktuellen Version 2021 (Ultrapak) ist der RealStyle-Set-Zähler auf 373 angestiegen. Im Megapak 2021 ist aber nur eine kleine Untermenge aller neuen Realstyles enthalten. Diese neuen Realstyles arbeiten teils mit "alten" Realtracks, aber auch mit neuen Realtracks, die im Ultrapak mitgeliefert sind (bzw. auch mit den einzelen Stylesets erworben werden können). Wnn du nun neue Realstyles einsetzen möchtest, kann es sein, dass dir die dazugehörigen Realtracks in Teilen oder ganz fehlen. Das ist nicht schlimm, du kannst diese Spuren natürlich mit anderen Tracks bestücken, aber es klingt dann natürlich nicht so, wie es gedacht ist. Du findest im Stylepicker oben unter dem Menupunkt "andere" die Option, dass dir der Stylepicker nur die Realstyles und/oder Realtracks anbietet, die du auch tatsächlich auf der Platte hast (sowohl die alten 2016er also auch die neuen deines letzten Megapaks). Damit umgehst du die Fehlermeldungen n/a. bzw. N/V. (= nicht verfügbar) bzgl. fehlender Dateien.

Aah! Tausend Dank; das hat's tatsächlich gebracht!
Wenn ich das nun also richtig verstehe, war es letztlich ganz einfach so, dass erstens sehr wohl alles vom USB-Stick korrekt installiert wurde, ich jedoch zweitens die Angaben missinterpretiert hatte, da Programm-Architektur-bedingt zunächst einfach alles angezeigt wird, was es überhaupt gibt; völlig unabhängig davon, ob ich das dazugehörige Material besitze oder nicht - ist das korrekt zusammengefasst?
Sieht dann wohl auch so aus, als hätte ich ebendiese Programm-Architektur bislang gar nicht richtig verstanden... ^^
Ich müsste mir also bei meinem nächsten Update erneut ein Ultra-Plus-Paket kaufen, um Meldungen zu fehlenden Real Tracks nicht mehr sehen zu müssen resp. die Ansichtseinstellung nicht immer ändern zu müssen, richtig?

Hallo Thorsten, ja, es verhält sich genauso, wie du schreibst. Für den Fall, dass du auf das aktuelle Ultrapak upgraden möchtest, empfehle ich, auf das Erscheinen der neuen Version 2022 zu warten, denn es gibt von jeher bei PGMusic sehr attraktive Einführungsangebote (um die 50 % Rabatt, etwa 4 Wochen lang). Die neue Version erscheint in der englischen Version in der Regel Anfang Dezember hier im Onlineshop, im Frühjahr folgt dann die deutsche Version bei M3C mit meist ähnlichen Rabatten. Du kannst aber auch die englische Version später (ebenfalls im Frühjahr) kostenlos mit dem deutschen Sprachpaket (liegt dann auch hier auf der Webseite) auf deutsch umstellen.

vielen Dank für den Rat! Ich denke allerdings, ich werde "22" überspringen - es sei denn, die neue Programmversion bietet irrsinnig fantastische neue Features und/oder die neuen Styles sind dergestalt, dass ich sie unbedingt, und zwar sofort haben muss (was etwa der Fall wäre, wenn die Genre-Palette - endlich mal - "europäischer" sein würde). Ansonsten bin ich mit der aktuellen Programmversion ja recht zufrieden, und da ich die Real Tracks, die ich habe, bei weitem noch nicht zu Tode genudelt, ja, nach wie vor das meiste, glaub ich, sogar noch nie benutzt habe, hab ich's da auch nicht sooo eilig. Klar ist es immer schön, ganz gleich wo, das Neueste vom Neuen zu haben, doch dem muss man ja nicht immer nachgeben. Zumal, wenn man's nicht so dicke hat.
Da werd ich in den nächsten Monaten eher mal nach guten User Styles Ausschau halten oder sogar selbst mal den einen oder anderen zu basteln versuchen (meine Sample Library ist ziemlich groß). Doch selbst das ist nicht sooo wichtig. ^^
Das verstehe ich vollkommen. Auch für meine Zwecke komme ich eigentlich wirklich immer mit einer sehr kleinen Auswahl an Styles bestens zurecht. Immerhin enthält das Ultrapak auch so "europäische" Sachen, wie Oberkrainer-, Polka-, Gypsy- oder Klezmer-Styles, aber wann braucht man das aber schon? Andererseits ist es manchmal echt lustig und auch inspirierend, vorhandene Stücke mal mit schrägen Styles auszuprobieren.

Andererseits ist es manchmal echt lustig und auch inspirierend, vorhandene Stücke mal mit schrägen Styles auszuprobieren.
Das ist ja genau einer der Gründe, weshalb ich dieses Programm so liebe: Allein durch - teils völlig zufälliges - Herumexperimentieren sowie der Kombination verschiedener Styles bin ich immer wieder auf Sachen gekommen, die ich ansonsten niemals (so) gemacht hätte! Jeder hat nun mal einen begrenzten Blick, der vor allem durch die eigenen musikalischen Vorlieben definiert ist, und durch B.i.a.B. lässt sich dieser Blick wunderbar und oft ebenso überraschend wie en passent weiten - zumal, wenn man selbst kein guter Instrumentalist ist und der Zufall eine entsprechend größere Rolle spielt als bei Leuten, die vor allem gute Keyboarder und/oder gute Gitarristen sind. Und das find ich super! :-)
Hallo, ich kann manche styles nicht laden obwohl sie im bib Ordner angezeigt werden. sie allerdings dunkler. Sind dies styles die man noch dazu kaufen muss? vielen Dank für die eventuelle Antwort
