Same rules apply there as anywhere.

I still do consults for nightclubs, at least until the end of the month.

I retiring from my retirement jobs.

Every club has had issues with Dj's and computers. Owners don't understand. They give the nut job internet, he loads limewire or some other thing, and downloads a virus. Then the local provider has rules. You shoot out 100 emails at once and they pull the plug. The second time they pull the plug for a week.

The owner of the biggest DJ/PA mixer shop uses me because I'm old enough to convince the guy that the DJ does not need that. And I show them how to get a subscription to a service gives you every piece of music, with royalties, say up to 10,000 songs. You have a secure download site that way. I've walked in at 9 p.m. before it's busy and the idiot is chatting on MSN, facebook, and downloading from Limewire while counting his illegal substance...and drinking vodka from a thermos.

They used to send in one of the sound guys, but they are just like the DJ, ponytails tattoos, sneakers. I wear a jacket, say "get the internet outta the booth", get the guy a netbook for an hour and he can download from a secure site. Cost, $350 bucks, plus $150 for the advice. Just do a report like a doctor would. I even get a small commission on the netbook, and on the services. A separate note about the booze and drugs, and a sample warning letter about what's permitted and if you do anything illegal your butt is out the door.

Every DJ booth in town had the same issues. And the cure is the same.

I'm too old now to care about $150 bucks even if it takes an hour site visit and 1/2 for a report.

I just gave that work to a friend of mine who's 10 years younger and looks like an aged bouncer. He should do fine.

We've all seen people post stuff here, 2nd post whatever with a redirect website takes you shopping for porn. Never had that happen to me on Facebook.

And I know what my nieces and nephews all over the country are doing. There's good, bad and ugly.
