i agree with sound design.
i pay for every software i use but refuse to purchase any product with dongles or very highly intrusive security schemes.
i'm ok with the way pg and reaper do it.
only the other day i needed my only spare usb port for some
back ups. if i had it taken up by dongles i wouldnt have been able to do what i wanted.

as to plug ins. same deal...as daw software.
and it is my opinion that one can produce great songs useing
just the plug ins pg provides and reaps provides.
as well as useing the ones included free with computer music
mag uk.
in total giving bout 140 plug ins. ie pg plus reaps plus cm mag. in addition there are loads of free plug ins on the net.

frankly i agree with a producer i once met who urged me to not use plug ins like a crutch, and to not overuse plug ins.
