Sorry to read that you are having such a frustrating time with Realband. Like you, I run Vista Home Premium but my version is 32-bit. When I first loaded RB and BIAB on Vista nearly a year ago, I had some issues that were resolved by turning off the User Account Control (UAC). Since then, I've had no problems at all. (Windows made me feel that I was leaving my computer open to every kind of nasty possible by turning off the UAC but nothing has eventuated. I run Avast (free version) as my anti-virus program and it's been very sturdy.)

I haven't tried the RB-included CD burner because I always export my mix as a WAV file and then burn it in a separate process using CDBurnerXP (an exceptionally good freeware program that works fine with Vista).

There has been only one time that I had an issue with installing a build update. This was when I forgot to close Realband before running the installation. That was my fault. Other than that, all updates have proceeded flawlessly.
