Watch the 60 minutes interview about this concert. He cannot really interact with anyone, barely knows what is going on. But, when he hears the opening piano part he sings. Knows all the breaks, all the words everything. His wife says he is only Tony Bennet when he is singing, just transforms right before you eyes. Recognizing Gaga when she joined him on stage was a version of that as well. Backstage he would most likely not know who she was. Just amazing. at 95 he still has a pretty powerful voice amazingly. Lots of older singers seem to lose a lot, he adapted. Sad that he is done, but he had a good life and gave us lots of good music. This is a horrible disease, but it appears that treatments are coming as advances are being made every day recently on some different approaches. It would nice to see this disease controlled if not eradicated.


I cannot agree with you more on this terrible disease. Dealing with it with my mother for the past 8 years and the last 6 months have been a marked decline to where she doesn’t know anyone by name and really seems like an early teen in interest. Still my mom but it’s of course not the same.
