Hi folks, can anybody explain me how the files and folders structure works?
Specifically I was trying to move some real tracks from the biab everything pack to my internal hdd installation. Just copying the real track folder won't do it. It says it needs st2 and xt2 files. Where do I find them? A search find them in the soloist folder, but name convention is not very clear. How do I relate a folder of real tracks or realdrums to st2 xt2 files?
Do mac and windows versions use the same file and folders structures?

The ST2 and XT2 files are also required, and reside in the Soloists folder.
You may as well copy the whole Soloists folder. All the RealTracks one begin with the letter R
No, Mac and Windows use different file types (wma vs m4a)

Thanks Peter, I was not understanding the logic of putting in the soloist folder the reference file for tracks that play as background, but now i have a confirmation from the Guru itself I'm convinced!
About win and mac, of course they use different compressed audio files, I was talking about reference files. Are there st2 and xt2 files in the soloist folder that get the realtracks usable by the program?

Peter, still I can't dominate th filenames convention.
Let's take trumpets as an example. There are four of them.
ST2 and XT2 files ranges from 01 to 04.
But in the realtracks folder the numeration of trumpet subfolders gives no clue about which is trumpet 1 and which is 2,3,4.
Numbers of files increase starting from 001, but no number there indicates the correlation with the xt st files.....
Being just 4 in this case I could give a try one by one, but what if I have to search for a specific bass?
I'm in panic!

All this stuff about st2/xt2 is internal information that the user doesn't need to know about and shouldn't care about. It was mentioned above because you were asking about what those files are for.

To choose Realtracks, you use the Realtracks Picker dialog. For example, its easy to find the trumpet ones.

As it's your home I'll stick to your rules.....
It's just that I'm curious by nature.
If you feel these info should not be discussed in public, but you spare some time to write down a few tips, feel free to answer via mail or pm.
Even if I can imagine you're very busy all the time..
Anyhow thank you for giving to the world one of the fundamentals pieces of software, just like word or excel... Thank's a lot!

There is usually one ST2/XT2 files for a given realTracks, but sometimes more than 1. If you want to see which ST2/XT2 goes with each RealTracks, you would look in the Soloist dialog (top right of it shows the ST2). The name of the ST2/XT2 is arbitrary.

Hello skynet,

If you run the "Band-in-a-Box Setup" on the EverythingPAK hard drive, this will install all of the RealTracks 'data' files to your internal hard drive. That is, all of the .STY files, .SGU files, .ST2 files etc.
