Thanks VideoTrack for that. After you showed me that, it took a while, but I also found you can get there from a right click on the song or the small gear icon near the number of bars box. Wow, complex UI.
This song settings box seems to affect the one song currently being worked on only. I cannot seem to find a global preferences control for the default number of bars to show when making a new song and the ending characteristic that would be the default. Google and YouTube have not divulged this secret yet.
So I asked Simon at PG Chat who said questions like these are OK to ask chat (is that right?)
He said there is a global default setting for count in but NOT the other parameters. He said thus it is common for users to make a song just how they want a certain type of default to be and then save that and use it as a template that can be used over and over again! Awesome. Will do that.
