BTW, where did the name MINVAR come from? Is it related to 'minimum variance', as that would explain a lot of things that occurred.

It was a sneaky one. The chords are 'similar' and when I tried it out, it didnt stick out 'like a sore thumb', as we Poms say, so in it went.
The 4 bar cameo 'sailors hornpipe' towards the end is a nod of apprecation to Jet Harris, The Shadows bass guitarist who popped it in on the original.
Aside - I met Jet and his wife once. Despite his legendary past history, he was a lovely, unassuming, chatty chap.
MINVAR? The main theme throughout is The Shadows 'Nivram', an anagram of the lead guitarists' name, Hank Marvin. And Minvar is also an anagram of it. OK,OK, I was stuck for a title, right?!.
