This isn't new, although people may not be aware because they don't read the licenses.

For example, the following clause is in the Vocaloid license:

You may not publish or distribute the synthesized singing that is harmful to the moral rights of the third party including but not limited to the original singer of the Library.


The same sort of restrictions can be found in the UTAU voices. But in those cases, the voicebank providers may attach clauses as to the use of the voices.

In the case UTAU, people are voicing their moral objections to various content.

In the case of companies, they may want to avoid liability, as well as avoid having their product associated with specific political parties.
