Having just upgraded to v.2022, I'm very happy, but I'm a guy who likes to read manuals and I have always found the BIAB manuals to be so very hard on the eyes.

If they would just change it to a sans serif font, that would help enormously. It looks so crowded and busy that it feels like work to read.

How about it PG Music? Any chance of making that manual easier on the eyes? All it really needs is a cleaner font and maybe a bit better formatting here and there.

I agree... the manual, forum threads, my monitor, even the program itself is hard on my eyes...my wife is laughing at me... now she's easy on the eyes...

It is the same problem with the BIAB application itself.
All the very tiny tiny windows with small tina fonts that are impossible to read (and very heavy on the eyes).

Thanks for your feedback! We are always looking for ways to improve the program. I myself am low vision, so I personally prefer the Classic View over the Modern View in the program, which you can toggle between by pressing Ctrl T when you first open the program. I find seeing the colours and larger buttons helps me. Some font can be customized as well under Options | Preferences | Display. These little tips may help you like that did for me!

Those are good tips for the program, but please, PGM, consider the manual. Designing text that is easy to read is an art form in and of itself, but just cleaning it up, putting in a little white space, and a sans-serif font would go such a long way.

If you want to hire me to do it, I would be glad to. If you want to consider that, give me a few editable pages to test me and observe what I can do with it. This wasn't my original intent when I started the thread, but now that I think of it, I am offering my services. It's really so hard on the eyes and it doesn't need all that much to be turned into a valuable resource for us. The information is great. It's just the layout and styling that makes reading it difficult.

I know the "young-uns" are ok with reading limited amounts of information on the computer screen, but as we age it gets very difficult and many of us value a paper manual that we can print.

I'm having a great time with my newly installed version 2022 having updated from 2010.5, so please don't take this as a criticism of the program, but as a friendly suggestion.

I have noticed that the various popup menu windows in 2022 were very hard to read with small fonts. I have large monitors, but I still find myself leaning in closer to read the text.

Looking at the videos on the Groove3 website, the fonts are much larger and bold, making them easy to read.

How did they do that? Probably the difference between my Windows OS and their Mac...?

But if a future update would enable a user setting to increase the fonts or at least bold them globally in all of the popup menus and selection windows, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and all the best in 2022,

The-Watosh

Are you using 4K monitors scaled 200% to standard HD (1920x1024)? I am, and have noticed that a lot of Windows apps' popups don't scale and the fonts are very small and hard to read. Or if you are using 4K monitors unscaled, that would also be an issue.

No, my "large monitor" reference is from back in my 14" and 15" CRT dinosaur days. My current monitors are 21 and 22 inch led flats at standard HD def using no alternate scaling.

The small fonts are especially challenging on my laptop which is standard 1600x900. The various popup windows in the "preferences" section are very hard to read, for example.

Perhaps it's my dinosaur eyes that need my computer glasses updated...

Either way, not a major deal breaker. I'm enjoying the program immensely.

If on a PC you can hold down control and move the mouse wheel to either increase or decrease the screen. This works for the manual, forums, and the program.

Ctrl+ or - does the same, but only for the web browser, at least for my computers... The forum and online manual are web based so they are adjustable.

Thanks for the suggestion. It would be great if it worked for me for the program as well.

The style picker has much larger fonts than the main "preferences" window and its sub-windows, most of which are very small for my eyes. It would be nice to be able to at least bold the fonts if for some reason the programming prevents them from being updated at some future release to be user resizable.

Once again though, not nit-picking, I love the program and I'm just trying to give some helpful feedback.
