After ordering my BIAB USB drive on the 30th of December and receiving it on the 5th January, (that's pretty flash for the distances and the New Years fuss, I decided to find out whether my most wanted change was up to scratch.
I built a song in BIAB this morning selecting a seven stem RealDrum part...exported the lot to Reaper, replaced the guitars n bass, kept the organ and then did a VERY simple mix of the drums, (panning & levels)...no processing other than sending the snare bottom to the reverb bus and a little compression over both.

The 1st half of this track example has the stereo mix BIAB provided of the drums and the second part (a repeat) has my mix. For me it's a no brainer...I can deal with clicky kick and the almost ubiquitous LOUD hihat now.

DRUM STEREO FILE THEN DRUM STEMS

I decided to tidy the stem version a little so retracked the bass and did some adjustments to the guitars n organ. The drums remain as they were with a little level adjustment to everything else.
Tidier stem version

This is the same song..tweaked a bit becasue I was bored and I've swapped the drum kit this is Nashville Pop swing and it has OH's which makes things easier to mix for me.
