Bonjour,
En premier, je souhaite à tous une bonne année 2022 !
Je suis nouveau dans ce forum et pour tout dire, je n'ai pas encore acheté BIAB. Je suis sur MAC (actuellement MacOS "Monterey") et je suis tenté par ce logiciel. Le chat de BIAB m'a dit que la version "Monterey" de MacOS - 12.1 - sera bientôt disponible (actuellement en test). Je suis musicien de jazz (amateur bien sûr) et je joue de la guitare et de la basse. Mon style est principalement le jazz et je joue dans une petite formation, surtout des standards. J'aimerai savoir si BIAB est approprié pour la génération de solos de guitare? Je voudrais "entrer" dans BIAB une suite d'accords d'une partition d'un morceau de jazz et demander à BIAB de me jouer un chorus. Est-ce possible ? Est-ce que BIAB est bien pour le jazz ? Merci aux amateurs de ce style de m'aider dans mon choix et de me dire comment ils utilisent BIAB...

Bonjour Vaclar
BIAB est tout à fait adapté pour cela. C'est même sa fonction première : entrer une suite d'accord et générer un arrangement avec des breaks, des changements de style pour les différentes grilles.
BIAB s'est initialement développé pour les amateurs de jazz, de rock, de country, pop, bossa, etc..
J'ai rarement utilisé la fonction de génération de solos mais elle fonctionne parfaitement, avec toutes les variations possibles, et les solos sont impressionnants de réalisme.
Bref, oui BIAB est le logiciel adapté pour ton besoin, sans parler des dizaines de fonctions qui te rendront grand service : créer un playback en mp3, imprimer ta grille, composer, arranger, répéter, enregistrer, etc. Bienvenue dans l'univers infini de BIAB le logiciel fait pour les musicos, et depuis peu pour les home-studistes, mais c'est là une histoire qui m'intéresse beaucoup moins...
Mon pseudo te donnera une idée de mon instrument... dommage que je n'habite pas dans les Yvelines.

Bonjour Vaclar, Je ne suis plus utilisateur de MAC depuis fort longtemps, donc ne serai pas forcément objectif sur le sujet, mais je remarque que : - BIAB est développé pour Windows, les versions sont ensuite transposées pour MAC, avec un petit décalage temporel de quelques mois - les récentes évolutions de la plateforme MAC ont semble-t-il posé quelques difficultés techniques, tandis que sous Windows cela fonctionne parfaitement (surtout depuis que Windows fonctionne bien ;-) ). En tout état de cause, il faut éviter de se précipiter sur la version de décembre de l'année N-1 (ex: BIAB2022 sortie en décembre 2021), certes offerte avec des bonus mais traditionnellement bourrée de bugs car chez PGMUsic (comme bien d'autres éditeurs de logiciels...) les primo-utilisateurs servent de béta-testeurs, en particulier les MAC users pour leur plateforme. Autrement dit, si tu veux une version stabilisée tourne-toi plutôt vers BIAB2021 ou inférieure et attends urgemment que la version 2022 se stabilise (surtout pour MAC), d'autant plus que depuis quelques années BIAB n'apporte plus de fonction essentielles pour les Musiciens, mais se développe plutôt pour les home-studistes, concurrence avec les DAW (station de travail audio numériques) oblige. J'y vois une exception : il aura fallu attendre BIAB2021 pour que le logiciel enregistre *enfin* les pistes "mutées" (= rendues silencieuses) dans le projet BIAB ! Bref, les versions 2020 et 2021 sont tout à fait correctes sous Windows, quant à la plateforme MAC les utilisateurs confirmeront ou pas. Mais sache que pour un musicien découvrant le logiciel et souhaitant simplement répéter / apprendre / éditer des partitions / faire des playbacks d'accompagnement, les anciennes versions de BIAB à partir de 2012 voire 2013-2014 (c'est à dire lorsque les versions avec la techno des Realdrums et Realtracks arrivée à maturité) conviennent parfaitement car elles accumulent déjà vint ans d'expérience de PGMusic (les premières version du logiciel remontent aux années 90) et contiennent déjà 95% des fonctions et des styles utiles. Depuis, chaque version présente des améliorations substantielles sur l'offre de styles avec des sons et des styles incroyables, et il y a surtout eu un gros effort sur le plan ergonomique car l'interface a été complètement repensée. Pour ma part j'utilise BIAB2020 (sous Windows donc...) qui dispose d'une sorte d'index des fonctionnalités indiquant où trouver telle fonction (ex : où se trouve le menu pour transposer un morceau), et quand tu démarres ou utilise épisodiquement c'est franchement utile pour s'en sortir avec l'usine à gaz qu'est devenu BIAB au fil des années parce que, outre les chorus, dis-toi qu'il permet en fait de TOUT faire. Si tu te demandes si BIAB peut faire tel truc utile à un musicien, la réponse est oui (sauf le café) et c'est super cool ! Mais il faut parfois un peu d'aide et à la fois la doc traduite chaque année par Daniel (Merci à toi Daniel !) et cette fonction pour s'y repérer dans l'interface sont bien utiles. Pour compléter ma réponse : j'ai longtemps utilisé BIAB2013 et postérieures sur un netbook sans aucun souci, maintenant je suis plus à l'aise avec BIAB2020 sur un PC avec processeur Core I3. Bien sûr, tout dépend de l'usage et des performances souhaitées.
Personnellement, une fois mon projet finalisé dans BIAB j'en fais le rendu en mp3, et je joue !
En fait, tout PC récent sous W10 convient à condition qu'il dispose d'au moins 4Go de RAM et d'un espace de stockage conséquent pour les styles, mais ceux-ci peuvent tout à fait être stockés sur un périphérique USB externe, une clé, une carte SD, ou un disque de 128Go (ou plus) conviennent parfaitement, avec des performances évidemment différentes suivant le périphérique.

j’utilise BIAB 2021 « version de base » sous Monterey pour faire exactement ce que vous voulez faire : thème, grille d’accord et travail d’improvisation. Du basique pour BIAB.
Marche parfaitement.
À propos des chorus générés il ne faut pas se faire trop d’illusions: c’est assez basique, quelquefois bon, souvent passable, parfois décevant ( du moins pour la trompette dont je joue).
Cela reste quand même intéressant car peut donner des idées dans certains passages à partir desquels vous pouvez travailler; Et puis vous pouvez toujours demander à BIAB de recommencer un nouveau chorus: il ne râlera pas.
Malgré cette petite réserve, il ne faut pas hésiter: pour moi BIAB est indispensable pour travailler, la section rythmique est toujours disponible même en cas de confinement!
By the way, je suis aussi dans les Yvelines et je joue dans les ensembles de jazz du Conservatoire des Mureaux.
N’hésitez pas. Vaut le coup.

Merci pour votre réponse.
Pour la génération de solo de BIAB, je veux l'utiliser en fait pour avoir des idées comme vous le soulignez. Par contre, est-ce qu'il y a des options pour ça, du genre solo "rapide" (avec doubles croches...etc) ou bien solo plus "cool" (seulement noires et croches) ? Ou bien d'autres options....

Il y a plein de « modèles » de solos tout faits parmi lesquels on peut choisir. Je m’en contente. On peut affiner par un certain nombre de paramètres (dont effectivement je pense , la rapidité, le taux de « remplissage », etc.)
Je ne suis pas spécialiste du bricolage mais je pense qu’on peut aller assez loin dans la personnalisation (les vrais spécialistes vous répondront!)
Je connais bien Andresy, je suis à Vaux sur Seine, tout près. J’y fréquente surtout la piscine qui est extra.
