right, learning chord shapes is a good example for a useful application!

I'm not aware if Simply Piano uses vertical note highways. They do agrressive marketing atm, but what I've seen from their spots, they use horizontally scrolling sheetmusic.

In regard to your Synthesia question: I've seen that about the MusicXML, but haven't used it, so far. I particularly hope that they will use this for bass (and guitar) tabs some time in the future, to also offer an appropriate view for string instruments, comparable with the typical Rocksmith display. Synthesia and Rocksmith in one Software, plus directly connected with BiaB (plus a few little tweaks here and there) - that would be like a pure paradise, at least for me :-)
