...cut n' paste of RT audio in Logic, I expect the edit to sound awful – and it doesn't. Years ago I did a lot of theatre sound using reel-to-reel tape and a razor blade. I's amazing how much one can cut from the front of a starting beat and it still sounds OK. A short fade-in (cf angled razor cut) masks surprisingly well.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.
