Hi, friends !

I wrote this tune last fall
when we were staying out on our
summer cabin in the Southwest
of Finland ! I was amazed by
the big cranes preparing
themselves for the long migration
flight partly also from our field !
I just could not finish this tune
earlier so it comes up now when
the fall is long passed !

Here should be the links:

http://soundcloud.com/user-337827005/the-cranes?si=074b6a6f437a4f16b14ae293fbc6684c&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

http://app.box.com/s/o9fe5qpatini2qpjegsr5488ovt93qg7

...and here are the lyrics:

The Cranes (Music and Lyrics by Norman Wibe)

See the cranes are gath´rin for their trip abroad, and
hear them callin´for guidance where to land
seein´all those mighty birds makes me feel so sad
though I know they have to go, and I´ll be glad

that they leave before the snow
otherwise they couldn´t go
they´ll be trapped below
on the snowy ground
out in the field, without a shield , a frozen mound
helpless in the cold, in the cold

Love to view the flight of the mighty cranes now
liftin´slowly , in a single row
over the treetop, see them fly aloof
over my barnyard roof , and I´ll be glad

that they leave before the snow
otherwise they couldn´t go
they´ll be trapped below
on the snowy ground
out in the field, without a shield , a frozen mound
helpless in the cold, in the cold

SOLO

My dear cranes , evade the snow
otherwise you cannot go
you´ll be trapped below
n the snowy ground
out in the field, without a shield , a frozen mound
helpless in the cold, in the cold

Here are the particulars
regarding the instros:

THE STYLE: _CNTRYSH.STY (Country Shuffle)
Instros: Bass: 539, Piano: 2043, Drums: Realdrums
Country Shuffle, Guitar 1: 372, Pedal Steel: 370,
Guitar 2: 2436, Soloist: 1279 Country Boogie Brent sw 140

Recorded with mixcraft 8, reverb and compressor added !

Cheers
Dani

Dani

Very nice work.

Like David really liked those very deep low vocals.

That's an impressive range you have!

Good song.

Great song about those magnificent, pre-historic birds. They have mighty mating dances. I hope the human activities won't threaten their existence anymore, I recently watched a document a man who followed their migration to Hungary and Israel and how the cranes were scared away in some places.
Very respectful and beautiful lyrics. I really enjoyed your singing, your low register sounds amazing and the backing vocals are the wings. Great band also, the soloist guitar is perfect fit for the mood.

Ha! Given the song was about cranes, I didn't expect such a rocking introduction.

I'm with jannesan - that's a darned impressive low end in your vocal!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Yes Dani has a super vocal range and he handles it all expertly.

I really liked this one. Great backing tracks supporting a super vocal.

Great job!

OK, a random thought;
Why does toilet paper need a commercial? Who's not buying it?

WOW! Really nice, Dani. Yeah, like David said, how low can you go? The perfect vehicle for your expression, and I love the lyrics --so respectful and beautiful as Janne said.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Nice ode to the cranes. It's obvious you were very observant of them and that's a good thing. Observing nature is a form of meditation, I think. The Band has the rhythm down, no doubt. As said before, your vocals are well done.

Enjoyed that Dani.

We are watching a BBC series on birds in flight that has some great crane footage.

Well performed, mixed and fine use of BiaB tracks!
