As a some of you know, Barry & I have made a lot of music over the years. Some of it we even made money at.
But recently we decided to find all our old obscure, not released stuff & give it away.
We've been compiling the collection at BobAndBarryShow.com
FWIW, my personal stuff is here -
http://bobandbarryshow.com/bobs-music/
Like I said, it's all stuff that never saw the light of day, just ideas..

There's also a page dedicated to the crazy stuff Barry & I did together over the years. And a page dedicated to just Barry driven stuff .. though we were always involved with each others music (since the early 70's)

This may appear as shameless self-promotion (and it is), but thought I'd share none the less. At minimum it all used PT. Some used RB, some may have used BiaB, but we always had fun.
Thanks Peter & Jeff

Hey Harv, there's a neat and diverse collection of material there.

The last one (Tacky Teaser) didn't seem to want to come to the party. Was I getting teased? wink

I dunno, works here.
I can't believe someone made it down that far to find that.

That said, you didn't miss much.
That was one of the first songs I ever wrote (high school), and I was certainly surprised when the instructor said "let's try to do this" <grin>

In this rendition it is pretty much a GM version of the song anyway .. so nothing to write home about

Actually, I shouldn't short myself, it IS pretty cool now that I think about it; a high school age kid actually writing this stuff out.
(Yeah I took the time to hand write every part out for our high school jazz band)
That was over 40 years ago (ancient) .. time flies when you're having fun

Here's a direct link, maybe that will work (but again its nothing to write home about)

Ok, it worked this time.

I liked the way the Bass cuts through.
It sounds like it could be the music score from one of Perry Mason's 'Ironside' episodes grin
Actually, it's pretty neat, especially for a high school composition.

I can certainly hear the 1960's. Some Doors influence. It is a very cool assortment of musical ideas and much more fun to listen to a bunch of songs.

There are some very interesting bass lines in all this. I also hear the "Perry Mason" thing.

It would be fun to know what bands influenced you through all this.

Fun stuff, thanks for the post.

When I was young I listened to stuff like
Bob James, Maynard Ferguson, Yes, UK, Masabumi Kikuchi, Al Stewart, Steely Dan .. to name a few
The Doors were not in my world view at the time.

This made me laugh. Raymond Burr played Perry Mason and Ironside. So saying Perry Mason's Ironside just struck me as funny. I do this all the time, can't remember an actor's name and call them by their most famous character's name!

My wife asked if I had seen the dog bowl. I told her I didn't even know he could.

Ha Ha. Good pickup. Yes, the actor certainly was Raymond Burr, but I found myself visualizing him as 'in character' when I contemplated the suggestion of the 'Ironside' musical score.

I like all of this!! If you released it today and called it Art Rock it would sell. Every song is different so there is no "all sounds the same" syndrome. And for the time you wrote this stuff it was cutting edge.

Yeah, I was going for something like that (but only for the intro)
I don't think the rest of the song is 'Ironside'ish .. more Get Smart, or some other show from long ago smile
Thanks for the compliment. When I left high school and went to college the instructor asked if any of us had ever done any arrangements, or such .. so I pulled out those old charts and I'll be danged if we didn't play it in the spring concert.

Learning theory and reading/writing early on was one of the best things that ever happened to me. Not for making money, but for enjoying life, which is the bigger goal IMHO

Thanks Eddie, glad you enjoyed it, though probably not as much as I did creating it. smile
The Art Rock thing was a nice touch, made me smile. I don't think Art Rock would sell much anymore .. that means you have to take the time to listen, probably more than once, to appreciate it.
People don't do that anymore

St Vincent sells out her Art Rock shows...

Although she is way hotter than you (in a "in certain outfits and in certain lighting" kind of way), so there's that...

In fact she's on Austin City Limits tonight, though she is blonde again and has a different band configuration that isn't as good as the years when that picture is from.

I DID buy a St Vincent guitar if you recall. Mainly because it is shaped just like her! And it sounds great!

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
