About the piano, I can explain! It's not drowned out, it's not there – I drop it and the strings from the mix immediately after the intro.

The only RealTrack material for the main song is guitar, bass, and drums, and if you really listen to that chunking guitar, you can hear it isn't always on the exact same page as the synths, but it can get away with it 'cos it's being chunky, funky, and punky and contributing a texture more than anything.

If, however, I were to let a BIAB RealTrack with more harmonic content persist alongside the actual notes of Arnie's piece, it would be a noisy mess. I tried, with the piano and the strings, yuuuck. Overlaying a complex piece like this with a BIAB chord sheet doesn't work, unless BIAB is functioning as more of a rhythm section.
