Hi Tonistar. We tested a few things and suggest to first create a 4 bar intro by going to Edit | Song Form | Intro Bars Auto-Generate.
Once your intro is made, go to soloist | Generate and Play a Solo. On the right hand side of this window, make sure that the drop down menu beside "First" is set to "Yes-solo". This will generate to soloist at the beginning.
Finally, go to Melody | Melodist - Generate Chords and Melody. On the right side of this window, make sure the Set Range bar is set to 5, so that the melodist starts after your 4 bar intro.
Regarding your melody Sax, did you choose a MIDI track for this? If it is a yellow MIDI track then it will not have as good of sound quality as the RealTrack sax.
