OK, you're asking too many questions in one posting for me to answer in a single post. So I will try to break this up into manegable chunks.

Audacity and BiaB could very well be using vanilla drivers/settings. I don't see that as a problem. In fact, they both work fine independent from one another and they work fine together as a team. The evidence is every track at my SoundCloud site.

Note that I do not want to alter settings in Audacity for fear of messing Audacity up. I'm happy with Audacity as-is but am exploring the usage of a more capable DAW like RealBand or Reaper.
