I saw the many midi improvements in the latest version an installed it today. As my main use of Biab is play along with the programms songs or imported midi songs I use the THRU Channel to pick an instrument and play along. In my opinion this is a major fun factor of the whole program and probably enjoyed by many users worldwide. At least that is what I recommend my music friends since years.
There is always an issue with getting the balance between the songs volume and the THRU channel volume as it is not differenciating enough only using the 0-127 values. Some time ago I found in the Prefs Channel settings an "add to volume" to a specific track, which I used to increase the loudness of the THru channel. Then I got the recommendation to reduce the balance of all channels (by pressing SHIFT while reducing vol) but the THRU channel or put the THRU channel up and increase the overall volume of the song to get everything louder again. This seemed to worked fine in the last versions, as far as I remember, until now it is perfectly not working in a reasonable way. I used that procedure for songs as well as on imported midi files. It is completely unusable IMHO.
Does any other one run into this problem. This is a basic, essential function to balance the song and the musician playing along.
Please look into that an fix it. It is easy to reproduce. I am getting depressions from this programm again..... :-(

Stefan I would have liked to help, but I don't use this feature. So I am not the one to try to confirm the error, since I would not really know what I was doing. All my "play along" would be done in my DAW.
Nevertheless, sorry to see you having this problem. If what you believe is true and lots of others use this feature, then lets hope they can confirm the problem. Good luck.
The THRU volume settings are now part of the audio mixer. Select the "Seeing Eye" icon at the bottom of the mixer and you can select to make the THRU channel mixer settings visible.
I have no issue finding the THRU channel, I have issues using the volume control to balance it out against the other tracks.
If for example the volume control on the THRU is maxed out and still the other tracks are too loud, I lower all and then increase only the THRU again. Because of the overall lower volume I increase the song or all songs volume, to get back to a comfortable volume to play along.
Doing exactly this creates unexpected and unhelpful results.
I did this also using midi files I imported earlier. After the import the volume of THRU was a little to low, doing the above procedure decreases everything without being able to balance it again. ?!?! What is this???
Finding the eye is not the problem ;-)

"Opt | Preferences | MIDI Options | Boost velocity of Thru" --> this setting appears to be working in my testing.
Holding shift while adjust the volume in the Mixer also appears to be working the same as it has in the past. Have you identified what specifically is different about it? Does the problem happen with any song file?
