Hi everyone, In january I made a slow Blues called After All. When I was making it, I also made some different versions of it. Result: I could not choose. I decided to make more versions of this song until I have no inspiration left on it or hate the lyrics or whatever. I thought I could make at least 12 versions with a lot of variation between them... Well, I came to version 6 now: After All v6All the 'in-between' versions will be collected in an album or playlist in some time. This version has a Latin touch with maracas, a Tres and a steelband (at the end). But is also makes use of Vibes during the song and a Koto in the solo part. The lyrics have been changed a bit from the original song, or version 1. Let me know what you think of it, Hans ============================================================ Technical stuff: RealTracks: ~683:Bas, Electric, PopHalfNotesPush Gel 120 RealTracks: 3899:Vibes, Rhythm PopEven Ev 110 RealTracks: 1960:Tres, Rhythm Guajira Gel 120 RealTracks: 1753:Fiddle, Pop8sten Gel 110 RealTracks: 1818:Guitar, Acoustic, Rhythm Son Montuno Gel 165 RealTracks: 2327:Koto, Synth, New Age Gel 110 RealDrums :NashvilleEven8^1-a:SideStick, b:Ride and a steelband

Hi Bloc-Head, A great feel to this track... Love the Koto & fiddles.
I forgot to mention that I used fiddles too (RT 1753). Good to remind me of them. And yes, I like that Koto, but it is a strange instrument to get it fixed in the song, but it did here. Thanks for your post, Hans

As you said, Latin... with a bit of funkiness.
The fiddle gave it an unusual flavor - as did a number of other instruments you picked.
Enjoyed it!

Hoi Hans,
This is a really good song in every way. The Latin touch sounds so well and takes the song to another level. Well done!

Hans, you can toss the other versions as this one sounds like the cream of the top.
Very clever instrumentation! Super mix of RTs. Super vocal!
Everything about this shines!

Hi Floyd, Marty, Captain, Andi and Torrey, Thank you all for listening and commenting this song. Especially because you all made such nice remarks. And yes, it really happened. The spectacles on the cover were really broken and Mexico is far away again. So a lot of inspiration for 10 more versions, if I keep fantasizing... (but I won't, I promise. Six it will be). Hans, A good version. Cool BAND. Showing off the versatility of BIAB. Good vocals. Good mix. I like it. fj Floyd, you're right about BiaB, but one still needs his own imagination to create songs. And, in my case, a reasonable voice ;-) Thanks. Ahhhh.... Slow blues on the islands. Really like that tres --excellent choices, Hans. I hope you never get sick of it. Marty, 'never get sick of it'... do you mean singing songs for you, or making all these versions? As I said I have 4 other versions beside the original and this one. One is also a Blues, but with more tempo and the others folk-rock and so. So, nothing special. But I made a promise at the start of this post; I promise 6 it will be. But if you challenge me, I make 12! I like it. Parts have Santana Vibe V6 is a winner! moto Mo, I like that 'Santana vibe' you mentioned, but I'm modest enough to accept I am too far away from them. Still, I agree with you this song has a nice swing. I like listening to it myself -these days- (!). Thanks! Hello Hans TOP MIX Really good there is so much happening in your song - outstanding Your singing is once again top class I find good that you produce several versions of a song there you can see how different one and the same song can sound i have listened to this song several times now. the more i listen to it the more i think it is the best song i have heard from you so far. really great work Hans Many greetings Andi ;-)
Hi Andi, I like all your sayings about the song, but I prefer your sentence starting with "the more i listen..." Keep doing that, Andi! And examine the cover as well to find other things, or compare it with version 1 ;-)) But thanks for your nice words! Hans, I don't know much about the other versions, but I like this one! I always feel your vocals are so captivating! I love everything about this tune! Thanks, Torrey Torrey, how else can I reply than to say thanks for this nice comment. And listen to the other versions when or if I make them public (can take a while). I wish you all a very nice day, Hans

Hi Misha, Ray, David, Dave and Rob en Anne-Marie, Thanks for listening and your comments on this song. I was pleased by them all, but you can read my answers after your note. 50 shades of Hans? Nice Latin flavor tune. Cool stops. Ethnic instruments worked fantastically! Catchy vocals. Clear mix too. Listens very well. Good one, Hans. Thank you for sharing. Misha. Misha, thanks for the suggestion, but I think 6 shades will be enough. Nice to read you liked the etnic instruments. It was a guess if it would work out nice with the other instruments and it did! Thanks, man! The pre-chorus melody is ACE! Ray, I was a bit shocked by the content of your post. I'd expected some notitions on whatever instrument or vocals. But it was all good for you. I took a little rum, as you can imagine. Thanks! As you said, Latin... with a bit of funkiness. The fiddle gave it an unusual flavor - as did a number of other instruments you picked. Enjoyed it! David, to tell you the truth I was hesitating in my selection of instruments. The most 'dangerous' one was the steel band in combination with the fiddle. Well, you know everything about experimenting with vocals and instruments, so I'm very glad you enjoyed it! Everything about this works, Hans, very slick arrangement, really well done! Dave, it was a bit like 'keeping my fingers crossed' if you would appreciate this version. Therefore I also made another version in Blues, but with more tempo than the first song. Since you liked this one I can stop sending the other versions to the forum ;-) I have pleased you and that's pleasing me! Hoi Hans, This is a really good song in every way. The Latin touch sounds so well and takes the song to another level. Well done! Rob and Anne-Marie Rob and Anne-Marie, I reply in English so the other can understand what we say. Thanks for your kind words and the nice remark on SoundCloud as well. As I wrote you before I was pleased to see some other 'Nederlanders' here. There are only a few. I looked you up and saw you are also working with Joanna Cooper. That was a pleasant surprise! I made some songs with her. Are you planning to make a song with her too? Your voice is very beautiful, Anne-Marie, so it's an idea... Thanks! Well, answering your posts is a nice thing to do, although I'm always late. I think working with BiaB is distracting me too much... Anyway, I wish you a very nice day, Hans

We really like the Latin vibe. The fiddle and vibes were very special and as always the drums were excellent in the mix.
We are long time fans of your melodies and vocals and you delivered excellent ones again.
Have fun with the versions but it'll be difficult to top this one!
