Dave, your mention of 6/8 made me smile because a long time ago a band I was in got into a HUGE debate as the theory aspect of "The End Of The Road" by Boyz To Men reared up as we were learning it. One guy insisted it was 3/4. Another said 6/8. Then I tossed my wrench in and said "I consider it compound meter. 3/4 contained inside of 4/4. So count it 123-223-323-423" and that was just more than they could understand. And whilst I agree with Dave that it could easily be 6/8, it was actually programmed in Eddie's compound meter!
