Hi,
Another thing you could do is try re-seating the hard disk. To do that, take out the two small screws to remove the enclosure, then pull the disk out and replace it firmly in the connection to the enslosure. Also to be sure it's not a power supply issue, use the USB ports on the back of your computer to test it (if you have a desktop PC). Another test you could do is to try the hard disk with a different enclosure.
