Saltarello is a medieval dance.
Guillaume Dufay, a Belgian composer, wrote this one. He lived in the 15th century. I used his music as a melody and let BIAB compose the music around it.
Rob took care of the backing vocal in the third chorus and the final mix.

Style is _STQRPEH.STY (String Quartet Hall Pop 8ths)

UserTrack in Song: Guitar, Acoustic, Nylon, Pick-Strum, Rhythm, 70
UserTrack in Song: Guitar, Classical, Fingerpicking, Waltz, 12-8 Unchained Melody, Hezy Levy, Ev8 070
2507:String Quartet Rhythm PopEvenChamber Ev 120

Saltarello

Come on sweet love take my hand and dance with me
We’ll dance to places no one else has ever seen
Where fables abide and fantasies linger
imagination and wonderful dreams
Come on sweet love take my hand and dance with me

Come on my love let’s dance into another space
There’s music that you won’t hear in any other place
We will encounter beautiful stories
magnificent poems, and delicate songs
Come on my love let’s dance into another space

Come on my love hurry on and don’t let time go by
I’ll give you wings so you can raise me up into the sky
Let’s enjoy music, tales and dancing
Finding ourselves and live out our dreams
Come on my love, let’s dare and love will be our guide

Repeat first verse

Three posts and already the good adjectives are all used up!

Pretty song, well sung. Soft and delicate arrangement. Loved the emoting and subtle harmony.

The instruments dropping away at the end was especially effective.

Lovely. smile

cool stuff. I like how you took an old tune and made it relevant as well as the progression displayed in the dancers with each verse.

well done

Simply lovely, the best use I've heard of these classical real tracks by far.

Pretty melody, nicely sung and an engaging video.

Very impressive.

ALL OF THE ABOVE.
there's some sibilant stuff that could be tidied...I suspect the reverb is accentuating it...in my ears.
Keeping almost lost melodies alive - well done and thanks.

Cheers

I'm a huge fan of early music, so I loved this. What a great voice! Some of the most beautiful music ever is from this period. Well done, I hope you will do more like this.

Hi Anne-Marie and Rob,

This is a very lovely song you made. So nice to imagine it's an old melody, well very old, that you brought back.
And not only that, you made it sound like a song from now. Beautiful voice (but be careful on the reverb!)and lovely harmony in the third verse.

I enjoyed your performance very much, or: ik heb echt van jullie uitvoering van dit lied genoten!
Ben ook blij weer eens Nederlanders in het forum te zien (= als glad to meet Dutchies in the forum),

Lucius!

I'm struck by the essence of femininity in this song.

I know we have a few ladies participating here but, as far as I can tell, the majority of songs are from men.
The choice of music coupled with the female vocal just makes this more delicate and touching than what the men usually produce.
The video is also perfectly done.

Excellent!

WOW, a beautiful vocal with a magnificent supporting band.

The guitars and vocal were top shelf!

Super mix

This brought a big smile to my face. Excellent work!

Dear 'RnAM'...

Your song provided a lovely showcase for BIAB's facility with virtually every genre of music that exists on this Earth. The RealTracks you employed in service to the melody (beautifully expressed in the ecstatic lyrics) resulted in the creation of a piece that was saturated with an air of gentleness and innocence. I agree entirely with 'Captain Moto'(s) comment about the production.

Any form of music that invites listeners to dance together in a mutually agreeable social setting, to touch each other while moving their bodies in graceful patterns over the floor, is music that serves to heighten the experience of living, and that is something to celebrate!

Thank you for contributing such a stress-abolishing, worry-erasing song to the User's Forum smile
