In My Eye

Flyin' blind in space and time, trying to find, a little peace of mind
People come, and then they go just like the leaves from trees when the wind blows
In my life, nothin ever seemed just right, I could find no joy in the day or the night
Then she came into my sight, and I could finally see the light
I got love in my eye.

Now in my life everything's alright, she makes me feel so alive
I saw the light when I got love in my eye.

When I first saw the light, I thought that I would lose my sight,
For the rest of my life, I'd go blind.
But the love of my life agreed to be my wife, and now everything is lookin' fine
When I realized I had love in my eye, no mater how hard I tried, I couldn't find a reason why.
Then I could see the love she had for me, She could see the love in my eye

Now she's my wife, and everything's alright, she makes me feel so alive.
I saw the light when I got love in my eye.
( Saxamafone Solo )

Bird on a wire won't need to fly higher, when he can see everything that he needs.
It always looks better when thers's a change in the weather and nothin' is ever as it seems.

Now everything looks bright, and everyone's allright, She's still the love of my life.
I see the light cause I've got Love In My Eye...

I originally wrote and recorded this song for my wife several years ago, and I usually play it for her on Valentine's holiday... she must like it 'cause we're still together after many years...

This is a really cool vibe. Catchy tune, strong lyric.
I got the feeling that the backing band instruments were warmer than the vocals (which, by comparison seemed distant and less resonant) but maybe that was the recording/mixing style in the 80s. Feel free to correct me if I'm off the mark there. wink
Well worth a second listen.

I did a lot of analog audio production in the '70's &'80s, but this tune was produced in Cakewalk Sonar around 2010, with a few tweaks since... I have a version somewhere with a much better vocalist, maybe I can dig it up... Thanks big-time for the feedback.

A really good song!
The melody is so nice.
Your voice might need some "warming up" like Ghostgum said, but even without that, it's a fine song.
Well done!

Hi Bloc-Head,

This is another excellent song. I'm a huge Little Feat fan and this would have made Lowell George a happy man.

Don't worry about another vocalist - you have nailed it!

keep em coming - please.

Best Regards
Nigel

You ain't no blockhead on this one!

This is a super song for a loved one. Expertly played and mixed.

Warming the vocal may help but I found nothing wrong with this vocal.

Fantastic song

Hey Bloc...first off you had me at the intro...nice melody and I love the groove of the bass and the B3 sold me completely...great harmonies...the saxes are "very saxy"...as usual your mix is tight and so appealing...if she didn't love you before writing this it surely must have sealed the deal...great write and great performance.

bloc-head,

A very cool song.

Super opening! Nice acoustic chops.

Killer vocal and BGVs (opinion: a bit too much high-end EQ - kinda "crispy" - slightly lifts the vocal out-of-the-mix).

A good write. Outstanding melody. Reminds me of the best of Huey Lewis (not that it sounds like Huey, but has that excellent commercial Pop Rock magic).

A great listen.

You've got talent.

I don't wanna give away too much, but we've been married to each other for most of our lives, so I guess that deal was sealed long before I wrote this song... She's a lucky gal. grin;-) Thanks for the friendly words...

Enjoying now. Thank you. I can't add to the praise without repeating it, but it is well deserved.

Googled "saxamaphone" to see if it was something real and almost got fooled when Google silently substituted "saxophone".

Great intro, catchy beat, nice write. Nice vocals, too.

I like this one a lot. laugh

That said... there's something squeaky in the left channel that's distracting. I think it's guitar strings. I actually had to switch from speakers to my headphones just to make sure I wasn't hearing things.

Thanks Mark... I tried to learn the saxamafone, but I sucked at it, and just couldn't make it work... but the RT soloist, I used on this project, nailed it... don't know his name, but this cat can blow...

Thanks David, you have a good ear... I believe the "squeaky" you're hearing is string noise from my Santa Cruz acoustic guitar... it's pretty loud in the mix... I tried to mask it with the Electric Piano, but then finally just decided to ignored it... Good Ears David.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
