I use the feature in Toontracks where you can enter a beat or groove and Toontracks then searches for that "groove" and returns in ranked order what if finds. It will also search Native Instruments and most other brands of loops and midi files. I could have missed this feature in BIAB we have so many good features.
The main use I envision is to help find a groove while you are writing a song.

Welcome to the forum. That's a good way to ask, since you are correct there is so much in BIAB it's good to ask first.
My experience is that there is not such a feature, but I may be wrong. Let's see what others say.
BIAB uses filters when searching, and text entries in the filter. Put in an artist name, or the name of a genre, and the search will help narrow down the choices. Then you can sort by tempo, genre, or whatever way you prefer.
If no one gives a better answer for BIAB, perhaps you could make a post in the Wishlist forum here, lower down in the list of forums. Give an example, or maybe a short video link, that shows the developers how you would want it to work.

I like the concept and except for using filters as mentioned, I'm not aware of an existing feature in BiaB.

You can save the RealDrumCharts to midi and use EZDrummer to search the user midi for the groove you need. Full Screen

Yes, but I would like to be able to use a similar search function in BIAB, ie to be able to search a similar groove in BIAB by dropping midi, manual tap, or dropping audio, as I can do in Toonetracks and get list with best percentage matches in BIAB.
(audio drop/mp3 to match is only available in EZBass).
