BTW I just remembered, there are a couple bugs in selecting Real Tracks on a different external if the original external is no longer connected and/or the path has changed——I've been trying to get it fixed every time there's a new version. The first is the message to change a Preference in a place that does not exist but that just flashes and can be ignored. It's the second bug: Here's the workaround:

When you go into the Window dropdown and click on RealTracks Settings, the error shows that the old location is not available has an OK button. As you've probably discovered, clicking on it does nothing. With 2018* and older, it would lock up my Mac and I'd have to do a Force-Quit. With BIAB 2019 and newer, click again and again and again. Eventually it will open revealing the window you need where you can select a new location. Once you find the path, click Update, then OK and you're done.

Drums has never given me this problem—it may be slow but it does respond.

I'll revisit this again when BIAB 2022 for Mac becomes a reality. Of course, once I've set it properly, then finding it becomes no longer an issue so I ignore it again.

*The older workaround was to reinstall from the drive that came with BIAB, leave it connected showing that as the location of Real Tracks and Drums. You could then go in and change the location to your new external.
