Yep... pop all right. With a Mellotron center.

A nice diviersion. smile

Mark, I hope you don't mind me hijacking this thread, but Ezekiel's Storm mentioned he's looking for a Mellotron VSTi.

There are a number of free Mellotron VSTi that are available, but most of them are based on free samples of varying quality that have been released over the years. In some of them, you can hear the loop points (and they shouldn't be looped at all); others are out of tune because... well, the Mellotron was ridiculously hard to keep in tune.

Some Mellotron vendors have gotten around this problem bu going back to the original tapes to get pristine copies, while some vendors have simply added distortion to new recordings to give the that "Mellotron" sound.

But people only recognizes a handful of Mellotron sounds, such as the flutes, strings and those terrible, terrible brass sounds. So that seems a lot of work for nostalgia.

Since even BiaB comes with free strings and flutes, I'd suggest running them through something like this free tape emulator that will add grain, wow and flutter for that classic Mellotron sound.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?
