Create a song with one chorus and 4 bar ending. Everything works as expected - bar two of the ending ends with held chords.
Now change the chorus to two or more and only the first three tracks hold, i.e., in this example guitar 2 and 3 continue playing. Same with other styles that I have tried.
Am I missing something or is this a bug? I can't try an older version because I've overwritten the 2021 install with the later version.
Adding C... to the first bar of the ending will work as expected but no way to create a hold beyond bar 1 of the ending.
Hmm, something weird going on now. If I shut down, restart and start new from scratch then all seem to work. However, once I've loaded up the saved song with the problem, it seems to stick - so there must be some setting that remains after the song has been loaded.
I'll mark this as resolved until / if I can find a way to re-create it.
Have you got the Tag Ending selected in Song Settings? You didn't say.
You can often add additional bars to the Tag Ending to get the desired ending for the song.

Thanks, yes I did mess around with it but makes no difference. This problem only affects the last 2 guitar tracks. Guitar 1, bass and drum all work as expected.
I've figured out I can solve this by rebuilding from scratch, but I would still like to get to the bottom of it just for the sake of curiosity and learning more about the software, so still interested in more suggestions.
Back to unresolved, I've found a way to recreate it. It's down to what chord you put in the first bar, first beat. For instance, use something like C5, C7, Cdim and the problem exists. Cm, Cm7 no problem, I haven't tried others.
Can anybody confirm?
Steps to recreate ...
Create a new song with 4 bar ending for realtracks. Just for simplicity make it 12 bars, use chord C throughout and 2x chorus. Use style "TEXROCK.STY w/2 guitars"
In bar two of the ending, everything is normal, chords are held.
Now change the chord to C7 at the first bar, first beat. In the second bar of the ending, the drums, bass and guitar 1 all end normally. Guitars 1 and 2 carry on playing. Make the song 1 chorus and everything works correctly again.
I've tried the same with 5, 7 and diminished chord, it's probably the same with others. Use these chords anywhere other than the first beat and all works as expected.

I'm not sure of forum etiquette here, do I mark this resolved now or wait for the fix?
Normally you would wait for a fix. However, the developers now know it's a problem, so hopefully will be resolved in a soon-to-be-released update. I've pointed them to this thread also.

I'm sorry my guidance to attach a file wasn't helpful. I'm not sure what is wrong since the file attachment directions state:
Quote:
You may upload the following file types: .gif,.jpg,.png,.jpeg,.bmp,.tif. Only image files are permitted.
From that quote you'd think what you did would work.
Researching I found you need to go to the Windows Control Panel Home > Appearance and Personalization > File Explorer Options and uncheck the check box for "Hide Extensions For Known File Types". By default this check box is checked.
When that check box is checked the file name suffix to the right of the dot is hidden and you can not access the suffix to change it.
Jim, I actually think something has been changed in the forum settings for file uploads. The attachments don't work as before, including if a file extension is appended. I had to upload .SGU, .MP3 etc files to DropBox and place a link to get a method to work.
I think this is part of a very recent change to the forum operations. If Andrew/PGM staff reads this, they may be able to clarify further.
(Additionally, "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" is always unchecked on my systems).

Thanks Jim. No problem understanding file extensions, the forum just wouldn't accept .txt and renaming it to an image extension uploads OK but doesn't create a clickable hyperlink. I think, as Audiotrack has mentioned, it's probably a forum change.
I agree. Funny thing is Test File.WAV.gif uploaded and was available as an attachment right after I made the post. Today, it's not. It's a shame too as I created a special 485 kbytes wav file just for the post. Maybe PG Music wasn't impressed with my narration voice. Aw Shucks.
I normally have file extensions visible but sometimes a Window's update will reset the setting back to default so I thought it was worth mentioning.
