Hi, Mark. I like it, but not sure why it's here. I'm often slow on the uptake, so I'll stop back and learn.
Hi, Marty, I'm glad you liked it, and I can explain, I think...
It's some kind of music, or organized sound, based on a voice extracted from an old recording. I would have called it "experimental" except with even slight overuse that term becomes meaningless and I'm over my quota already.
It uses a chord sheet to invoke BIAB to generate a band section, of which I have used the bass. FWIW the connection of the BIAB-generated bass line to the rest of the piece can be heard pretty clearly in the instrumental section.
I am not presenting this as a "cover" (perhaps your concern?) because it is so far removed from the original I don't honestly consider it that, even though a case could be made that it is. Hence the appeal to plunderphonics. I considered posting in the "Best of YouTube" forum, but thought, really?
If you liked it, or found it interesting at all, there we go, and thanks again!
This works for me...I'd be inclined to mellow some of the strident frequencies in the voice though. I think this'd be a perfect fit for the Eraserhead soundtrack or to follow the backward speaking section in Come Fire Walk With Me.

I am honored and unworthy.
David Lynch's use of music in films (and TV) is my favorite since Stanley Kubrick. Angelo Badalamenti, Julee Cruise, Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks, woo. Lynch plays n' sings, too, some kind of electric guitar blues with heavily obscured vocals.

It's some kind of music, or organized sound, based on a voice extracted from an old recording. I would have called it "experimental" except with even slight overuse that term becomes meaningless and I'm over my quota already. HAHA.

FWIW the connection of the BIAB-generated bass line to the rest of the piece can be heard pretty clearly in the instrumental section. Man, that's interesting. I've never used BiaB that way. Cool. Do you use the Chord Wizard?
I am not presenting this as a "cover" (perhaps your concern?) because it is so far removed from the original I don't honestly consider it that, even though a case could be made that it is. Hence the appeal to plunderphonics. I considered posting in the "Best of YouTube" forum, but thought, really? I have no "concerns." Just couldn't "hear" BiaB in there.
If you liked it, or found it interesting at all, there we go, and thanks again! Yes, I did... er, do.
Man, that's interesting. I've never used BiaB that way. Cool. Do you use the Chord Wizard?
Not the Audio Chord Wizard, its MIDI counterpart. I use MIDI Guitar in Logic to pitch-analyze audio into MIDI, then I feed the MIDI into BIAB for chord analysis.
Here's the whole sordid process, if you're at all interested (and I greatly appreciate the interest you've already shown!) Starting with Dorothy's old record:
1) In Izotope RX9, separate voice from instruments to create two audio files.
2) In Logic, use MIDI Guitar polyphonic pitch-recognition to create one MIDI track from vocal audio, and one MIDI track from instrumental audio, and export to a MIDI file.
3) In BIAB, import that MIDI file and perform chord analysis.
4) In BIAB, set up a RealTracks arrangement and export the song as audio tracks.
5) In Logic, import these BIAB audio tracks.
At this point, in Logic, I have (A) the original audio after "stem separation", (B) MIDI tracks from pitch-recognition of that audio, and (C) RealTracks from BIAB. I can now go to town with a snoot full of plugins and editing tools. In the end I used Izotope VocalSynth on the isolated voice, LABS Organic Textures Thunder and Birdsong to render the MIDI, added a few stray MIDI winds, and set it down upon the RealTrack bass.
Well... don't exactly know what to think of it. Definitely never heard it after anesthesia. I always heard "Mrs. Bovenkamp, please wake up. You look so pale, are you with us?" But a nice experiment!

We are Rob Meulman and Anne-Marie Bovenkamp from The Netherlands.
If you've never seen Dorothy Lamour in any movies, I'd suggest you check out some of the various Bob Hope/Bing Crosby "Road" movies. Good silliness, and she's often the female lead.
It's only a dream... It's only a dream... It's only a dream...
Folks, I do appreciate your indulgence. You may have noticed I've taken to using a CONTENT RATING SYSTEM, to ensure a "no nasty surprises" experience!
Guitarhacker: Hi back, and glad you shared the brew! <insert brewsky emoji>
Anne-Marie: The idea was, you're in the recovery room, regaining consciousness, and the nurses have Dorothy on the radio, and this is the way she filters through. I guess they don't play radios in recovery rooms, though! =8^)
David: Oh yes, I have to see her now, after listening to that voice! Thanks. I hope they aren't like Elvis movies...
Cool experiment. Some very neat sounds. +1 to what Ray said on the mix. I found a couple of the energy builds to be a bit harsh.
Scott and Ray, I've toned down the highs in the synthesized vocal track, which did sound a bit like four little shovels scraping a sidewalk. Thanks for the input! Updated version is in place.
