I'm not sure, but you may be referring to the Natural Arrangement setting in BiaB. This can be disabled for the current song (Song Settings), or globally for all songs (Arrangement Options).

Besides the information in the manual and integrated help, we are not sure exactly what the internal function is with this feature.
