I've searched the forum but didn't find anything. Often when I regenerate a song I get the message that a certain % of the chords have been modified or re-interpreted. I get this for many jazz type arrangements but I have a simple progression that needs an F to be F Major and A to be an A Major and not a dominant or other inversion. Is there a check box somewhere that I'm not seeing that will prevent this from happening?
Thanks!

I'm not sure, but you may be referring to the Natural Arrangement setting in BiaB. This can be disabled for the current song (Song Settings), or globally for all songs (Arrangement Options).

Besides the information in the manual and integrated help, we are not sure exactly what the internal function is with this feature.

AudioTrack showed how to turn this feature off. About the % number it gives, I am not sure that's fully accurate.

If you want a simple triad and not a seventh or upper extension, please look at the short article I wrote in the Tips and Tricks Forum, https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=694482#Post694482

I think the % value comes from the pop-up message shown here. To recreate, just create a song with one C chord, 32 bars, use a Jazz-Swing style (I just chose _SHHHHHH), and have Natural Arrangements enabled.

Thanks to both of you. I did end up finding the natural arrangements setting in Preferences, Arrange.

Nice Article, Matt. Good info. I've tried all of them and it has changed some of the F chords to basic but some of the A chords are still 7ths. Maybe I will try to delete those chords and enter them back now that I have some of these settings changed in Preferences.
Thanks again,

Thanks again,

If you have frozen any tracks then you would need to unfreeze and generate again for the chords to be updated.

I discovered a mistake I made while working within the file...I got a message saying I had identified the song as being in the key of D and that it was likely the key of A and would I like to change it now. After I changed the key to A all the chords sounded as I had originally intended. Even when I unfroze the tracks and re-generated it still had the chord alterations. But with the key change all is good. Senior moment on my part.

Very good!

I wish I could edit my article and add this. I agree, of course, but it remains a mystery of what exactly is going on with setting the key signature. The key of A is only one sharp removed from D so it’s a surprise it would make that much of a difference. However, we do see that BIAB uses the key signature to make decisions and it’s something important to do when starting any song.

You might consider going back to the first post and Mark as Resolved.

Done. Thanks. I wouldn't have thought to do that. It's been a while since I've been here.

FYI I also wrote to the company to ask if I can go back after a month and add this to my post. I would give you credit in the edit. If they make it possible, are you ok with that?
