Well, February is nearly over and I am still a few songs short of a picnic. (I still have this weekend though so there is a chance eek). I thought I would post all the songs in one thread so please feel free to listen to anything that takes your fancy. During this FAWM I did not focus too much on production. I just used the Band-in-a-Box style straight "out of the box" with no arranging (except the Symphony of Diversity song). Lyrics are on the song itself within FAWM. All songs use Band-in-a-Box. Most songs took about an hour to produce (including the harmonies)

Comments are most welcome.

1. How to Win Games with SrCoops This was a fun write about winning at sports. The style is STHRKJN.STY (Southern Rock Swing w/ Piano)

2. Love with Liz Petty This was a quirky love song with some fun lyrics from Liz about how you can love someone who is completely different to you. The style is _BGPG_B.STY (Bouncy Country Pop)

3. We're in the Moment So Iove with Cindy Prince A beautiful set of lyrics from Cindy, lent themselves perfectly to a county waltz. Style is _OLDWALZ.STY (Old Time Fast Waltz w Mando Solo)

4. Symphony of Diversity with Liz Petty. I had a huge amount of fun with MIDI and Dimension PRO generating tracks for all the different instruments mentioned in these wonderful lyrics from Liz. Style is _HALLSTQ.STY (Pop Hall String Quartet)

5. This Could Be Forever with Arthur Rossi. Arthur always writes interesting slightly edgy lyrics and this was no exception. A love song with a difference. Style is _EAGL_PS.STY (Midtempo Country)

6. All Alone Again with Cindy Prince. Cindy is the master of the unrequited love song. This one was, apparently, autobiographical for her. Style is _QUASAR.STY (Quasar Minimal Modern Pop Ballad)

7. Abandoned Home with Cindy Prince. The classic haunted home story. Written in a minor key, I tried to make this as "spooky" as I could but not sure I achieved this. Style is _BREATH.STY (Breath Celtic Pop Ballad)

8. Spring Song with Kristin Chambers.A fun upbeat ditty about Spring, Hope and Moving on. Style is _CMPFMF2.STY (Campfire, Medium Fingerpicking &)

9. Turn the Tide. This song was in response to a challenge to write a song about a good news story.I love good news songs so I wrote this one based on a story about a guy who was a hairstylist and during the pandemic just went out and gave haircuts to homeless people. He ended up starting a whole movement.

10. There are things we can't measure with Bill Loryman. This is a classic country love song. Style is _ACCNTRY.STY (Acoustic Country w/ Pedal Steel)

Whoa... I didn't know, Joanne. I've been following David Snyder's FAWN, and now I have yours to enjoy. What an incredible undertaking. Love.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thank you so much Babumusic. I always enjoy the experience and it gives me a few new songs. My mojo seems to have “disappeared” but I am going to crack on this weekend and see if I can get to 14

Hey David!! I had my head down and didn’t even think to seek you out on there! I have just listened to your Scottish song! Wow!! Awesomeness.

And yes, FAWM is a GREAT advert to others what is possible with Band-in-a-box. I dare say I have “converted” a few of those folks to BIAB over the years. Will listen to a few more.

Very cool stuff Joanne. I've always liked to hear your voice. But you already know that.

I'll be listening to the entire bunch later. Don't be such a stranger around here.

Thanks so much Herb. I appreciate your ongoing support. I am definitely going to be around a little bit more. My current contract is coming to an end at the end of March so I will have more time and have some interesting things planned.

Here are the rest of the songs I wrote for February. I got to 15! I didn't think I was going to make it but managed 4 over the weekend and 1 on Monday.

11. One and All with Liz Petty This was one of my personal favorites from this Year's FAWM about peace, hope and truth. Quite poignant lyrics from Liz, considering what is going on in the world right now.

12. Walking Down the Line with Arthur RFossi This one was a little bit out of my comfort zone! When I read these wonderful lyrics from Arthur all I could hear was a rock song. It really could do with a "male rocker" voice.

13. Love Flowers with Liz Petty A very pretty lyric from Liz. I hope I did it justice

14. THrough my Window with Cindy Prince A sad story about a woman whose husband has died but she still picks a flower every day and brings it to the bed where he died.

15. Fishing the Basin with Liz Petty This one was the highlight of FAWM for me. Came in just as the bell rang in response to Don Gaynor's request for a sea shanty. I am going to be performing this one at open mics for sure.

Joanne,

I listened to the first song.
I felt very nostalgic as I was listening to American folk rocks from the 1960s.
I was impressed with your great motivation to create songs.
I would like to participate in FAWN someday, but I think it is very impossible to complete 14 songs in a month.
I pray for the achievement of 14 songs from the bottom of my heart.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

P.S.
Congratulations on your achievement of 15 songs!

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
