Sounds nice...the INVASION versus nationalism/patriotism/separatism make this a difficult one to comment on apart from the audio..
Audio wise some high end roll of would be useful and, maybe, a wider stereo image.

Cheers

Chills up my spine make me stand so the tears have farther to fall.

Yeah, I’m not seeking topical comments, really, just putting it out there, because duh. I considered including the words but decided to skip stuff like “Our enemies will die, as the dew does in the sunshine.”

Maybe my treble trouble is deteriorating hearing, how do folks deal with that, I wonder, fly “by instruments” alone?

And I think I have a tendency toward mono, probably because of traumatic experiences in childhood listening to “stereo” Beatles records mixed with grotesque absolute separation, like instruments on one side and voice on the other.

Thanks for hear and speak!

Tell me about it. Middle of the night and I’m making this thing and reading about what’s going on and hearing the anthem emerge and I did some tears myself. This was a quick one, done out of a deep emotional need to do it for what very little it is worth. But it’s OK if it sounds that, as long as it doesn’t sound disrespectful.

I imagine the Bulgarians who sang those notes are having some chills themselves, given their location.

Thanks.

It seems a silver lining might be appearing . . . unification and solidarity is happening in NATO and around the world.
The question is will the world take full advantage of this opportunity to nurture and defend freedom everywhere.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.

Anthem lyrics are often appalling for the obvious reasons. The British rarely mention their "other" verses like...

Lord, grant that Marshal Wade,
May by thy mighty aid,
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
and like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush,
God save the King.

From every latent foe
From the assassin's blow
God save the King
O'er him Thine arm extend
For Britain's sake defend
Our father, king, and friend
God save the King!

Cheers

A very touching recording. I like wordless vocals. Good use of BIAB to create the music. Good job.

Nice melody.

The wordless vocals don't really work for me, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over that. wink

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Much appreciamentissimo to the folks above.

David:

I'm not that happy with the soloist's diction and continuity myself – it does sound very spliced together – but this "instrument" works better when the others join. I just love real Bulgarian voices (as in "The Mysteries Of") so much, I was shooting for the psycholinguistic effect of "hearing speech sung in a language not understood" as one step above la la la, but I probably won't do it again except in chorus. NET NET: I appreciate you sharing an actionable reaction.

As cap'n said, "Can Music Save The World?
I wish it could."

Indeed.

Short, reflective and lingering.

Well done,

Thanks, all.

Sorry to be abrupt, but I just saw things on TV and I'm feeling kind of sick. Wide shots with both the artillery gun and the apartment building it's attacking. Russia is shelling civilians a dozen miles from the Poland border.

I grew up believing – I mean, it seemed just absolutely obvious and certain – that I would die in a nuclear war with Russia. Then, for a long time, that seemed so distant. Now I'm wondering if I'm far enough from Boston to survive.

At first, after I put it up, I thought this anthem thing might be a dumb vanity project. But I come back to it and it sounds pretty damn heartfelt.

Thanks for listening.
