Guitar right on the money too, great tone and I love the way you play the "spaces".

Really enjoyed this one, Herb!

Maybe it was Carlos or someone else... could have been Duke Ellington or Louis Armstrong who said, it's not what you play, it's what you DON'T play that makes the difference. Seeing all the online kids and others who shred and cram a ba-gillion notes into 4 beats, I think... Oh, that's cute, but can you play with soul? Can you touch my heart with a single note or do you simply dazzle me with the number of notes you can fit into a given passage? I prefer to play it slow and tastefully most of the time. Sometimes I actually succeed.

I can't describe how I do that vocal other than to say it's not forced. Kind of laid back and lazy actually. I close mic so I don't feel like I have to push it. Think a combination of the "cry" in Conway Twittys voice and Dusty/Billy from Top.

Guitar tone is courtesy of the Spark modeling amp using the Fishboy amp. It's actually designed for acoustic and clean instruments but in the Spark, you can add a multitude of pedals before and after the amp. For this tone.... the amp is set clean with the PG (Positive Grid) Sustainer and Drive booster pedals up front, both of which simply add clean gain. The PG Room Studio A verb is on the back end. As a guitar player, you should investigate this amp. Extremely versatile is putting it mildly. I run it direct from the headphone jack into the Saffire Interface.

Thanks
