BIAB Win Patch 918, sometimes when deleting "Volume Automation Nodes" the track will stop responding temporarily, and I notice that it's converted the track to a "Performance Audio Track" and inserts "Silence Events".

I then have to go to "Edit/Undo", several times, to get back to the original track format.

It has happened MANY times, on many different songs. Happens on RealTracks as well as MIDI tracks. Just keeps happening.

Please don't respond "go to factory settings". (Default Answer)

Thank you.

Hi Thunderthud, we tried your steps of making new volume automation nodes and deleting them, but so far could not reproduce this issue.

Silencing a part of the waveform in the Audio edit window (under the Edit menu) will automatically convert the RealTrack to an audio track and we can confirm that Edit | Undo does not change an audio track back into a RealTrack; it only undoes the silence.

Are you using a desktop or laptop computer?

Using a laptop computer.

And, when this happens...
If you click on Edit/Undo enough times it DOES bring back the original track.'

I am not silencing audio on purpose. I don't go into the edit menu, when working on volume automation.

I'm wondering if I have bad aim while trying to click on the volume nodes, and I'm hitting delete when I'm off target (Volume Automation intrudes into the audio waveform space) and hitting a blank space while pressing delete. Again, this happens often to me. Happened again after I made the post. Thanks

If you right click the black area instead then select delete, it will remove the waveform and convert the track to audio, so it is possible to do that accidentally. To be sure that you are deleting the volume node, left click it first to select it. It would then turn red so you know you are clicking on the correct spot before doing a right click and delete.

Was definitely not right clicking. Have to go out of my way to right click on the touchpad. Thanks

Not to say this is the cause of your issue necessarily, but I find that working with anything that is click heavy on a laptop, a wireless mouse may help prevent any accidental dragging or wrong-clicks which may help. If you are able to plug a mouse in temporarily you could try and see if that helps the ease of process for you.

Cheers,
Ember
