It took me less than a day start to finish, writing recording, mixing and mastering. Please feel free to critique and let me know what you think - and thank you so very much for the chance to showcase and for listening. The piano track is 1264 acoustic shining, the Drums are Nashville BrushesEasyBluegrass and the acoustic guitar solo is from my favourite Brent Mason 3199, backing acoustic guitar is 2933 Hope the info helps someone Regards Eddie

Eddie, Nice vocal! Nice use of BIAB. Well mixed. Good first post. Welcome to the Showcase. (It can be helpful if you include a lyric to follow along...And a list of BIAB tracks used - so we can "steal" the good stuff  ... that acoustic guitar lead track is especially nice!!) Great title that snapped my grim attention right up – and attention was rewarded by the hearing of a very sweet, simple song. A very pleasant listen.
I have to say, though, the central concept of the lyric kind of freaks me out! I get that "loving you will burn away the pain" is meant to be good, meaning love is soothing, but I can't help but think of fire, and burns, and even vampires bursting into flame. The word "burn" is really kind of jarring in there, though possibly that is your intent.

Hi, Eddie. Sounds great - solid "classic folk"! Excellent vocal - both the singing and phrasing. Subtle harmonies. Good mix and arrangement. The acoustic guitar sounds especially sweet. Not really anything to "critique'.  Well, the guitar solo at the end was a bit unfocused so I would have ended it a bit sooner.

Nice work, good arrangement.
I hear the vocal as slightly left of centre in my headphones - could be my headphones though.
A little sibilant stuff could be dealt with to allow the intimate vocal to be fully effective.

Your remarks reminded me of A German TV advert where they showed a gas burner slowly getting bigger and brighter - the background music was Johnny Cash's 'Ring Of Fire' and the advert was for hemerrhoid cream!! Thanks for listening and commenting
