I made this recording a long time ago, using a vocoder to sing it. Now it is my first vocal rendered using the amazing Synthesizer V. No BIAB, posting here this 'cos there's some interest in that. If you have never heard Synthesizer V and have any interest in song synthesis, you should listen to this. It will blow your mind right out of your head. Let's Make The Water Turn Black (Frank Zappa) Now believe me when I tell you that my song is really true I want everyone to listen and believe It's about some little people from a long time ago And all the things the neighbors didn't know Early every morning Daddy Dinky went to work Selling lamps & chairs to San Ber'dino squares And I still remember Mama with her apron & her pad Feeding all the boys at Ed's Cafe! Whizzing & pasting & pooting through the day (Ronnie helping Kenny helping burn his poots away!) And all the while on a shelf in the shed: KENNY'S LITTLE CREATURES ON DISPLAY! Ronnie saves his numies on a window in his room (A marvel to be seen: dysentery green) While Kenny & his buddies had a game out in the back: LET'S MAKE THE WATER TURN BLACK We see them after school in a world of their own (To some it might seem creepy what they do...) The neighbors on the right sat & watched them every night (I bet you'd do the same if they was you) Whizzing & pasting & pooting through the day (Ronnie helping Kenny helping burn his poots away!) And all the while on a shelf in the shed: KENNY'S LITTLE CREATURES ON DISPLAY! Ronnie's in the Army now & Kenny's taking pills Oh! How they yearn to see a bomber burn! Color flashing, thunder crashing, dynamite machine! (Wait till the fire turns green... Wait till the fire turns green) WAIT TILL THE FIRE TURNS GREEN!

You've been busy... and full of surprises. Thanks, this is an old favorite! So many great songs on "We're Only In It For The Money". (Did you know the stuff about whizzing and little creatures was true? The kids would pee in a barrel and in time it became a little ecosystem with some sort of living things swimming around, mutant shrimp or something.) A little confused.
Have seen a few of these here. Perhaps fun and enjoyable for folks...but...how do I ask this...
How is this related to You Tube or the Best of You Tube???
Does there need to be an Xtra forum called "Mark's extra stuff" or should they just be on the showcase??
Maybe the showcase should be reserved for people who are "showcasing" the use of the product that pays the bills and then another thread for just "Random Songs of Joy" (can't think of a good name) for other songs, from enthusiastic people who like to post a song a day and stuff???
This is not snarky--it is a serious question.
I seriously wonder if there needs to be another thread for random songs or even "song dumping" songs to keep them separate from the showcase forum, and the youtube forum.

How is this related to You Tube or the Best of You Tube??? I was using the popular technique of finessing the prohibition on showcasing covers by posting under "Best of YouTube" or "I just heard Band-in-a-Box on YouTube". Yes, it's SoundCloud, not YouTube, but I couldn't justify the effort of making a dummy video to upload to YouTube just to be technically compliant.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
