Are you describing the light blue screen where there is an icon and it asks for the password? Often, users will create a guest account at the same place that requires no password. You probably don't have that.

Sometimes there is a prompt entered if you ask for it.

Are you talking about the BIOS password, before Windows starts to load?

If it's a desktop, you can remove a jumper on the motherboard and it will reset the boot password to nothing. Not sure if you can get to that in a laptop.

Windows 7 installation does ask you to give the main computer account a name. Did your sister do the install, or did a vendor do it?
