Spring has sprung here where we live... The time changed recently (daylight-savings-time) and it reminded me of a song I had written several spring-times ago when I first had the idea for this song. A BIG Thanks to BiaB for this awesome Software, and some killer Session Magicians. Spring Forward Edit: After reading all the great feedback and advice, I decided to make some changes... - Brought up Vocal Volume, and reduced some of the Vocal processing - Deleted the Clarinet, and replaced it with (2603:Guitar, Electric, Soloist JazzRock16ths) The song was recorded and mastered using Cakewalk Sonar. I hope you still enjoy it... all feedback is welcome.

Bloc-head:
Nice smooth jazzy, R&B feel to this song. Vocal is real strong and fits the feel and vibe of the tune. Like the reverb/delay you have on that “spring forward” refrain. I’m wondering if that first horn(?) can sit back in the mix on its opening notes (it seems just right thereafter, as do all the other instrumentals). Really sweet tune you have here.
Kind regards,
Deej

Deej Thanks Deej... Good call, I hear what you're saying... The Clarinet does sound a little loud. At first I thought you were talking about the Keyboard Brass Horns... Thanks again for the constructive feedback.

A really fine song, bloc-head. You post nothing but. The vocal could come up a bit, but that's just opinion. Man, you really worked those BiaB folks in just perfectly. Do you play all those instruments? I know these are BiaB, but the original... You play mean guitar, bass and stuff, but reeds, too? Loved this!!

Hi bloc-head,
it's a very rich composition in instrumentation. each instrument complements each other perfectly. The spatialization of sounds is well done. I appreciated.

A nice piece of work! Great composition and the entire band is in the groove.
Smooth band and the vocals are tight.
Very well done.

After several weeks of slightly warmer days here, when birds have been singing nicely and even some butterflies have awakened, spring has stepped back, coldness rules again and it is snowing soon... But your song is warming and gives hope that true spring will fast-forward in its full glory. Enjoyed the funky groove and the smooth jazzy instruments, the mood is light and sunny. Great vocals and the backing vocals are very well done. Lovely bird picture Janne

Thanks Marty, no I do not play Brass or Woodwinds, unless it's from my midi keyboard or guitar... however I do happen to OWN an old Trumpet, Flute, and a Saxamafone... grin;-) they're in a closet somewhere, along with my Banjo and Fiddle... They don't get out much...

For me the first 12 seconds are amazingly evocative, it's like I'm hearing all the seeds and eggs crack open as Spring bursts. I like those rough spots a lot.

This song really gives us a "spring feeling". This night time changed here too. And we've had some beautiful warm weeks, so this music is exactly on time. Very good vocals!

I loved it. You've really got some great sounds in this melody. I agree with Marty in that it's a good vocal, I just wish it was a touch louder. I listened to some of your stuff and start to grasp how far I've got to come with production. This is great stuff.

bloc-head,
Man! you do good stuff! - with a very large palette.
Excellent mix (those first few clarinet notes are a bit hot). I think the vocals sit perfectly (especially for this style).
Love that bass! and the sax. Drums sound great.
KILLER vocals! Very Boz-like (the music, too)
More Excellent music. Can't wait to hear what's next.

Hi bloc-head,
I thoroughly enjoyed this song - thanks.
Just one small suggestion - I would like to hear your voice, especially in the first verse, a little louder and less reverb - to match the first soloist volume (I think it's a Clarinet or Sax).
I think you have good voice, you sing in tune and Jazz vocalists tend to be a bit louder in the mix than in other genres.
Keep up the the great work.
Best Regards Nigel

Hi Block-head,
At first the sound of that bird, followed by a funky bass, is a very nice intro! And at the end the birds dares singing again... Spring, indeed! But the song in between was very nice and swinging. I say it all the time, but KC was around. Not much this time, but still...
I agree with Marty and Nigel your vocals (all) could use some more volume and less reverb. But the whole composition and performance was very good. But that's the case with all your songs I heard.
Hans

Floyd pretty much summed it up for me, man, just one great song after another over multiple genres.
Love the guitar work, I think that is you? Very smooth and tasteful, pure class. Excellent vocal too.
Keep them coming, I'm a fan.

Good job! The voice could be a TAD louder in the mix, perhaps? But it (the voice as well as the whole mix/production) sounds really professional ... I love it.
One small suggestion: do you think you could perhaps share the lyrics, either on Bandcamp or on here? It would be nice to read them, too, if at all possible. If not, no worries; it's nothing major, of course.
Nice :-)

Mid 70s when Boz was the buzz this would've made the charts with some big studio shining.
