I want some plate on that trumpet, not so much on that piano, thank you. And... well, that's it, really...

Well I suppose... but why waste precious time finding such a thing, plus resources and cpu, when there's a perfectly decent reverb engine (which I happen to actually think is better than many 3rd party fanciness) built right into the program already. Besides, maintaining it the way it is (as global) sort of goes against that whole 'individualisation of the tracks' concept that's finally being implemented here recently.

The Band-in-a-Box reverb can be disabled or enabled using check boxes. The reverb can be enabled or disabled globally or for this song only. There are also settings for how reverb is applied to RealTracks. The five preset buttons generally work well to blend multiple tracks into a cohesive sound.
Well, you are of course perfectly welcomed to disagree, 'respectfully' or otherwise But the shortcoming in your outline there (while true & accurate) is still that regardless of which "Type" settings one picks, it's always the same one for all of the tracks at once, or none at all.
But ok, far be it from me to want to turn this into some pointless I'm-right-and-you're-wrong thing that goes nowhere. So, having said that, I'm now leaning towards something that'll allow both ways, something akin to e.g. the Natural Chords options, which exists in both the Global and the individual. That way those who are happy with things the way they are won't need to worry about anything being taken away from them, and there'd still be the options of further choice for those who want or feel such a thing is missing.

Icelander. Maybe i’m missing something…but if you want bb trak based fx/reverb etc cant you turn off in prefs in bb applying rvb to rt’s ? then use the plug in slots on each trak ? Unless there is built in rvb by pg on the original rt of course. Is this the issue ?
Yeah no, you are almost certainly "missing something". The thing I'm talking about is this specific interface/settings (see screenshot). If you look at that you see five preset buttons (Small, Room, Large Room, Hall, Arena) which you can click on to make your preferred reverb setup instead of the Default Reverb that is already active - but that then applies to all of your tracks, with no ways of picking a specific one for just a specific track.
I hope that clarifies this a bit, but feel free let me know if not.

Icelander. ok. sorry i'm vision impaired didnt see the fact you dont want to use plug ins on each trak which is what i do or i use a daw. please note there are lots of free reverbs out there that are super efficient...eg an oldie i sometimes use called aries , and others like tal verb..if cpu useage is your concern. just google free reverb plug in low cpu useage.
One difference I noticed between the Band-in-a-Box (BiaB) for Windows I use and the Band-in-a-Box (BiaB) for Mac you use is BiaB for Windows includes a DX plugin suitable for adding reverb to a track while BiaB for Mac has no equivalent reverb plugin or any kind of plugin suite at all.
I firmly believe BiaB for Mac and BiaB for Windows should offer equivalent features. So if you would like to modify your request to PG Music should offer a default track plugin suite in BiaB for Mac, I'll be happy to add my support.

Well, I go on about that very principle matter any chance I get around here, so you know my sentiment on that one already, I'm sure
Consider it done

To be honest, I suspect PGM feel the same, but have finite resources and commercial pressures that frustrate achieving it.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful. Kawai MP6, Korg M50, Ui24R, Saffire Pro 40. AVL:MXE Linux; Windows 11; Win8.1: Scarletts BIAB2022 UltraPAK, Reaper, a bunch of stuff.
I'm on a Mac and have zero interest in these (Does anyone, really, apart from the Principle of the Thing?) and would hate to think of a team of developers having to spend time on them just to maintain parity. I'd sooner support dropping them from Windows!

Actually DX effects are dead outside of the PGM world. VST effects have taken over.
My goal this weekend is to move just enough each day so that no one pokes me to see if I'm dead or not.
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware
I for one, hope that never happens for following reasons.. >>they sound good and dont hassle me >>they dont hog processor cycles like some plug ins >>there are lots of little tricks ive developed with them over the years. >>one can combine them to get interesting fx including using with trak slide tricks >>they work also great in reaper daw. >>i like to work fast when i’m creating a song idea, and just drop them in rather going thru a ton of other plug ins.
And there are many other reasons…but thats enough. I urge any win user to really delve into them. Some of my vocs in songs of mine in the user showcase used them. Finally i used to use very expensive outboard in big studios….and i think for free i cant go anti on the pg dx plug ins.
yes there are ton of vst plug ins...but sometimes i just find the pg plug ins easy and convenient to use. but haveing said above i'm not knocking other vst plug ins of which i have many nice vst's.

+1 for PG Music adding a plugin suite to BiaB for Mac.
A little history. I'm aware of three products that support DX plugins; Cakewalk, Band-in-a-Box for Windows and Reaper. The DX and DXi specification was Microsoft's answer to Steinberg's original VST specification. Steinberg won that specification war and DX became Direct X. However, all three software applications continues to support both DX and VST.
I believe the PG Music DX plugins were written by a contractor or a former employee.

Plus 1 to the wish. These Fx's are quite good, accessible and easy to implement. They are also important to backward compatibility of the program.
