OP musiclover Veteran Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 3,167 Derry,Ireland	Hi folks, Just got my first VR headset the Oculus Quest 2, very impressed with it and a good buy. I'm having lots of fun with it, apps like Wander the 3D version of Google street view look amazing and give you a good sense of being there, rather than just looking at street view on a computer screen. Good to see how VR has moved on from the time that you needed a powerful PC to run it, though it can be done this way, the Oculus is a standalone headset. Still a few things could be improved, but all in all for either $299 or £299 over here, great fun and well worth the money. To keep things on a musical theme, music is a big part of VR as well. I've been interested for a long time for usage with fighter jet simulation but I settled many years back on a much cheaper IR tracking headset. When my head turns, the screen moves the pilot view. They use these on car simulators too. Anyhow, I'd like to move to VR at some point. Let us know how you like using it over time. Oh I am convinced already its a good buy, loads of stuff you can sideload using an app called sidequest. Only bit of a downside I can see is its probably a little bit like using binoculars but you get used to that, and as I understand VR hasn't moved on to the extent that can be fixed at the moment. As it not a great outlay for a headset, having good fun with it as well as the learning experience.
