I'm pondering the mother and baby groups. It was hard going 35 years ago as a single dad.... Let alone now as a geriatric dad. My sixteen year old daughter burst into tears but is now excited and on board. My 38 and 36 year old sons just kind of rolled their eyes. I told them I'd given up on grandchildren as neither of them even had girlfriends or seemed interested in a family!

My 2nd wife is 18 years younger than me but as 43 it was a shock after 16 years. We both looked shell shocked for a couple of weeks, but she's super happy now, as am I. What amazed me was how positive all my siblings were given they are both in their 70s. A new project for them all. My 1st wife sent me congratulations.

One funny event was when we went to the local hospital for a prenatal check and accidently wandered into (got ushered into) the geriatric unit on the floor below. My wife was sitting there with me and said, "This doesn't look very familiar! Why's there so many old people here?" Then we burst out laughing when we realised!

Anyway, it's a girl and she's kicking all the time like a footballer or a dancer.
