I sometimes listen to MIDIs of compositions I don't know specifically to hear them without any performance interpretation, and to be able to easily zoom in on different parts.

It would be nice to be able to do this in my head, with just a printed score, but such is way beyond me. (I read somewhere that Leonard Bernstein could do that, and even preferred it to listening to human performances.)
