Your vocals are great and those counterpoint voices are ace.

The chorus should be printed on posters and sold to remind folks of the treasure of each day! "Give it your all, my friend." YES!

Those sure are some lucky students to have had you for their teacher. smile

And the band choices and mix set up a wonderful open soundstage.
Great choice of FX!

Excellent.

Thank you so much for braving the thread and having a listen. Your comments have inspired me to get back into songwriting. So much so, in fact, that yesterday I joined a local songwriting group in an effort to lift myself out of the songwriting doldrums.

Thank you. The power of words is truly amazing!

All the very best to you both,
Noel

Hi there!

Thanks for jumping into the thread and taking the time to give my song a run through.

The slow down is done in BIAB. I use two measures and usually drop the tempo of each measure by around 5% of the previous measure's tempo. In this case, the main tempo was 110 bpm. Two measures before BIAB's 4-bar ending, I dropped the tempo to 105 bpm and in the following measure, one bar before BIAB's 4-bar ending, I dropped the tempo to 100.

And, yes! All done with teaching. It's a job I thoroughly enjoyed and never got tired of doing. That said, though, it's great to retire. What subjects do you teach?

All the best,
Noel

Hi CaptainMoto,

Thanks for passing through and thanks for commenting, too. While I did learn a couple of rock piano songs, I've come to the conclusion that I'm definitely more suited to easy-listening ballads smile It was an interesting year!

Noel

Well done Noel!

Hey chulaivet1966,

I love Tin Pan Alley songs from the 1920s to around the 1950s. I also love the early years of pop music in the 1950s and early 1960s. I reckon that some of the best and most memorable music ever written comes from those years. For these reasons, your comments really hit home (in a good way). Thank you!

All the best,
Noel

LOVED it. THANK YOU. I am really tired, today (long and boring story), and this is EXACTLY what I needed. Your students are SO lucky to have a teacher like you. Not a thing I'd change about this song. Sincerest congratulations.

P.S. BEAUTIFUL harmonies, too - as well as your solo singing. I call it: singing with heart. Well done and thanks again.

You wrote what you did because of covid and I think it has done good things too, like what you wrote. I hoped to hear your (rock) pianoplay, but it wasn't in the song. But it is a cheerful lovely song with good lyrics. And a very good performance!

Like your Ukraine design here!
Hans

Hi Hans,

Thank you for taking the time to have a listen. Trust me, you don't want to hear my rock piano. I was the low achiever at the bottom end of my classes. The idea sounded good, but I don't seem to have the flair for rock! Oh well... that's life.

Take care and all the best,
Noel

P.S. I'm sorry that it has taken me such a long time to respond to your post.

Critical... hmm a tough one. The only thing I can suggest is working on "clap" and "sticks" which sounds a bit midi and dry, while most other elements are acoustic. In any case, it is a VERY good song. Thank you for sharing.

Misha.

Hi Misha,

I sincerely appreciate that you had time to have a listen. I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to respond and to thank you. A few people have mentioned the percussion elements I added so I'll definitely be going back and listening to them. It's good to have additional confirmation.

All the very best,
Noel

An easy thing to tweak if you agree. Love the clapping—nice add! Very sweet tune, Noel!

All my best to you,

Hi Deej,

Firstly, I apologise for taking a while to get back to you. I honestly am very grateful that you had time to have a listen to my song. I appreciate your feedback. A few people have commented on the shaker. I'll definitely revisit it next time I'm at my DAW.

Thanks again and all the best,
Noel

Hi Derochette,

Thank you! I sincerely appreciate your comments. I'm just sorry that it took me so long to reply to you.

I wish I could say that the guitar is me but it's not (as you'd know from reading the Realtracks list). I consider myself immensely lucky to have found PG Music and to have a program that allows me to call on some of the best musicians in the world and have them create a backing for me. It never ceases to amaze me just how incredible Band In A Box is and what clicking on the "generate" button makes possible!

Kind regards,
Noel

Hi Dave!

It's always great to read you and discover that you've popped into one of my threads. Thank you! I'm sorry that I've been so slow getting back to you. Sometimes life is uncooperative. Being at this exit end of the journey brings frequent surprises with it, it seems. I'll have to try and turn that thought into a song smile

I hope that all is going well for you.

All the best,
Noel
