We had a few requests recently asking for further demonstration of the Drag & Drop section in the program. I like using the classic layout, so that's what I'm using here in my video, but if you are using the modern view you'll still see the section I'm referring to in the top left. If you want to follow along with the classic view, you can easily get there by hitting ctrl + T on your keyboard when in the chord sheet or notation window. You can use whatever interface you're most comfortable with!
Make sure your DAW is capable of accepting files through drag and drop. Most do, but there are some out there that don't accept files via this method.
Inside your BB (Windows) or Band-in-a-Box (Mac) folder you will find the DragDrop folder where your files you render from the Drag & Drop feature are stored. If you want to copy the files within the folder to a new location where you keep your other audio files, no problem. It's not a bad idea to periodically clear the files in this folder out from time to time to free up harddrive space.
As a trouble shooting tip, if you are having issues dragging and dropping from Band-in-a-Box and you know that your DAW has the ability to accept files via dragging and dropping, make sure your DragDrop folder inside your program folder is actually called "DragDrop". If this folder is missing or not named correctly, you may have some issues with rendering from the Drag & Drop feature. If it's missing, you can easily create a new folder and name it DragDrop, or if at some point you changed the name to something other than DragDrop, you can rename the folder back to DragDrop and it should fix the problem.
I enjoyed the video and learned from it. Was the Realband program already open to receive the audio files or did it open when you hit the taskbar icon?

Great question! I had it already open so it was ready for any audio I wanted to drop into it. This way I could choose what track I wanted my audio to go to as soon as RealBand popped up on my screen, but it was originally open but minimized.
Some DAWs out there can accept drag and dropped files while closed, and then give you a dialog where you can choose where the imported audio will go (such as which track), but that will be DAW specific, so it won't hurt to already have your DAW open in the background so you can just drop it where you want it to go.
Thanks for the explanation and updated vid. I've been, variously, using the DAW PlugIn or exporting from BIAB depending on a number of factors but this seems a smooth way to go and I know Reaper can, when saving a project, copy OR move all files to the project's location so the search for files shouldn't be necessary.

Another nice short and well focused video. I like these.
One thing missing, though it may anyway be best to keep the video without clutter, is the + in the drop station and the separate files option. It's no great hassle to drag the files individually and I suspect most drag and drop will be done with the individual tracks anyway.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful. AVL:MXE Linux; Windows 11 BIAB2025 Audiophile, a bunch of other software. Kawai MP6, Ui24R, Focusrite Saffire Pro40 and Scarletts .

Thank you for the compliment!
Yes, you are absolutely right. I didn't touch on that to keep it short and concise, but for those who check out the video and are curious about what we're talking about, dragging and dropping over the "+" does bring up and provide the following options if you prefer a slightly different method:
Super videos that are really helpful! One kind request for the BiaB/RB videos - is it possible to highlight the cursor to make it easier to follow during the tutorial? Thank you Roy

Sure! The screen recording program I have I believe has that option so I'll look into it for my next video.
