This is the first time I have ever posted a song with no BIAB tracks and it will probably be the last, but I gather some people are interested in this type of music and it might be just as fitting for today as the day my brother DJ Coles and I wrote it with our other brothers Ross Wright and Dan Shepherd a few days after 9/11.

DJ is the guy in the black jacket and it might be obvious which one is me, in the Beatles jacket.

There has been some discussion as to how do you do Praise and Worship/Gospel. This is how. Quick story. We wrote this song, and DJ took it to Nashville, walked into the offices of the largest Christian Publisher and asked to see Barry Weeks. They said no one got in without an appt and asked him to go away.

Then Mr. Weeks walked out of a studio door and asked him what he wanted. DJ started singing this song. 10 Minutes later he was sitting in a room with Mr. Weeks doing a rough demo. This is the final cut.

Every time I hear DJ sing these lines, I get goosebumps. Every time. "Will you sing with me? Will our love be free? Will we finally break these chains?"

Prayer For America

https://soundcloud.com/david-snyder-gigs3/prayer-for-america

V1.

Can a nation heal
can a nation feel
all the things it left behind?

Can a nation be
can a nation see
what it’s maker had in mind?

Chorus:

God I promise you
that I will live my life
for the one who died that day
and I will trust your love
and it will be enough

to heal
this broken place

V2.

Can I say a prayer
for America
will that finally be okay?

Will you sing with me
will our love be free?
will we finally break these chains?

Chorus:

God I promise you
that I will live my life
for the one who died that day

and I will trust your love
and it will be enough
to heal this broken place

Absolutely fantastic

Outstanding vocal, lyrics, and mix

Just as fitting today as it was back then

We do need a lot of prayers for our country

Loved it

I arrived early to a restaurant.
The manager asks, "do you mind waiting a bit?"
I said no.
"Good", he said. "Take these drinks to table 3"

David,
It's a reasonable thing for a BIAB devotee/promoter/user to drop a non box song.

Lovely voice, lovely melody, lovely chords.
The arrangement suits the blend of patriotism & religion too.

"Awesome" does not properly describe this ... just a wonderful song, and a wonderful performance.

Loved everything about it!

Why do they call them goosebumps? And who are they? Outstanding in every way, David. It's the kind of magical song that makes you stand up. I am. Thanks you! Much respect, brother.

Enjoy whatever happens!

The fact that this hasn't made to radio is a crime.

Hi David,

Every day I read and see what is going on in your country on the 'democratic' front.
And I'm getting more concerned.

"Can I say a prayer
for America
will that finally be okay?"

I would answer that guestion with a big 'NO'

But let me concentrate on the song itself: The singer has a very good voice and performed impressing!
The melody is very nice and played by a good band, although it has nothing from an original David Snyder song ;-)

David...OMG!! and I don't mean that as a meaningless exclamation...I mean Oh my God!...this moves me on so many levels....the music is breathtaking, the melody is captivating and the message is motivating...and yes this is how you do Praise and Worship/Gospel...you do it from a heart of worship, with the Spirit leading and a marriage of great lyrics and a memorable melody...as Floyd said this should be on Christian radio right now (send this to K-Love right now)...excellent David,,,excellent!
