Hello, forum friends

The music circle I belong to holds recording sessions twice a year.
This song was recorded at the latest session in this winter.
And it is the male vocal version of “Say Hello To You” produced by RealTracks with female vocal post to the forum 2 years ago.
https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=85036&Number=610094#Post610094

Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Title: Say Hello To You

Vocal: Tsuyoshi Tamada, my music friend

Link:
https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/say-hello-to-you-2022-version

Live performed by Yamaha teachers
Additional Strings, Clavinet and Percussions from SWAY.STY (Sway - Smooth Jazz - Latin Pop, MIDI)
Clavinet: Native Instruments Kontakt5 clavinet
Percussion: EastWest Goliath GM Percusion
4 part strings: EastWest Symphonic Orchestra

Summary of lyrics:

I say hello to you
Like the sky without an end
Wherever and whenever
I will fly to visit you

I have been thinking I could never see you again
But I noticed it would come true someday
If I kept wishing it strongly
I'll definitely reach you

Before I knew it, I gave it up
I was becoming timid
Now I can't wait to call your name
It is so nostalgic

I was thinking about everything I could not do
But now I only think what I can do
Dreams are not just dreams
How close is your town?

I say hello to you, hello again to you
Like the sky without an end
Yesterday is me and tomorrow is you
I want to be by your side from now on

I'll never leave you again
I kept thinking you strongly
Now the wish will finally come true
Your town is shining there

Hi Shigeki Adachi,

This is another quality song from you. I really enjoyed it - particularly the vocals and also the George Benson style guitar break in the middle of the song.

Only comments:
1. The vocals may be just a touch loud in the opening verse. They are fine in the chorus with the strings.
2. Not sure about the bars after the guitar break and before the vocals come in again and where there is not a lot happening.

These are not criticisms - just thoughts.

Keep up the great work.

Best Regards
Nigel

Hello Shigeki Adachi and Tsuyoshi Tamada,

Very nice vocals in a dynamic song!
It's nice to hear the Japanese language this way.
And luckily you had that translation inclosed.

I translated a portion, きみを訪ね 船を出す, and it meant 'Visiting you and setting out a ship', but you translated it as 'I will fly to visit you'. I think your translation is better of course, but a plane or a ship is a big difference ;-)

Hello, Shigeki Adachi, Tsuyoshi Tamada and Yoko K. Both versions are brilliant, and each one stands perfectly on its own. I'd picked this one if I could only pick one. You are such a good writer and surround yourself with some amazing friends.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Shigeki Adachi,

Both versions are very good recordings.
And both with beautiful vocals.
(I agree with Nigel's comment that the male vocal is very slightly loud).
The rest of the mix is good.
I always enjoy your strings additions.

Beautiful music.

Shigeki and Tsuyoshi,

Beautiful music and a great vocal!

BTW are Shigeki and Tsuyoshi your first names?
We always take for granted that the name that's first is also your given name.
But we thought in Japanese you start with your family name/surname.

The arrangement and performances are at your usual HIGH level.
The vocal is cool - a little loud initially as mentioned.
I do enjoy the "energy" added in the circle version.
Another lovely song, wonderfully executed.

Cheers

“I say hello to you, hello again to you

I want to be by your side from now on”

This is a lovely long and the above lines are just one example of why that is so. The lyric, melody, band, singer, and mix are all such a pleasure to hear.

We listened to the 2020 version also and had the same reaction. The sax solo in the original version works well but the guitar solo in the current version fits a little better for us. Both singers sound excellent.

Enjoyed it!

Hi Shigeki ...

Your music is always so wonderful. I love this style of music and you do it so well. Professional quality all the way. I do agree the vocal is a bit loud - not much, though. It's always a pleasure to hear your music!

Rob and Anne-Marie,

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune and the vocal.
As you say, in Japan, the surname comes first and the first name comes after.
However, when writing in English, the first name is written first and the surname is written later following the Western style.
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

Best regards.
