Nice work.
I remember that time in my life. The draft lottery.... everyone was hoping for a high number. 65 wasn't my year.... 72 was. Nam was winding down and the sandbox was starting to get hot. USMC

Wow, what a song. They say that a song needs to tell a story, yours sure did that. I can relate to the draft, I joined the Navy in 1971, and as I was in boot camp, I got draft papers in the mail!!
I love how you incorporated the orchestra into the song, it fit perfectly!!

Awesome song. I grew up about 50 miles from the North Dakota border. The draft was a scary thing to think about those days. Incredible lyric and video was heart wrenching. Well done and welcome back to the forum. Look forward to hearing more of your tunes..

Wow, Rick, that's outstanding, man. The video was intense, and so is the song. Everything was perfect in the video. I liked how you only showed the pix from '64 or '65 and not from the photo book of '72, and then brought out your mug that showed the experiences you went through. Thanks so much for this, Rick. Beautifully done.

Thank you all so much, I was afraid it was 2 intense so I didn't know what to expect but the response has been all positive around the world. War sucks, of that there is no doubt, and those of us who were plucked from our lives at the time paid the price. Some paid the ultimate price and I doubt they knew what for either. And depressing. But in a "good" way. Your song, music, and vocals capture the emotion and atmosphere of the loss, in any aspect, that war can create.

Thank You, I have to give a lot of credit to my songwriting partner...Band in a Box. It is a fabulous tool for composing and the real tracks can be used in thousands of ways, I use them in Studio One with the DAW plug and they sync up fine.
Thanks again to all of you who took the time to listen and comment and I'm glad some found something to like.

Lots to like here . . . the write really resonates and sets the mood out right. The vocal is solid and the music bed and mix is compelling. Like the strings and the repetition of the lyric in the opening of the second verse. Overall, rich and emotional . . . nice job!
